THE CW GETS INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT WITH SPECIALS FEATURING MUPPETS, GRANDMA AND THAT OTHER REINDEER

November 22, 2011 (Burbank, CA) - The CW brightens up Black Friday this year with two holiday specials airing the night after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 25. Based on the classic holiday song, the one-hour animated special "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" (8:00-9:00pm ET) returns to warm hearts and make sure that song is stuck in everyone's head all season long. The reindeer theme continues with "Olive, The Other Reindeer (9:00-10:00pm ET), featuring the voices of Drew Barrymore, Dan Castellaneta, Joe Pantoliano and Edward Asner.

On Wednesday, November 30, the lovable Muppets lift holiday spirits when Gonzo talks Kermit and his friends into a wild adventure to make sure every Christmas letter reaches the North Pole. Guest stars include Nathan Lane, Uma Thurman, Whoopi Goldberg and Jane Krakowski.

A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL BASED ON THE HIT HOLIDAY SONG -- Based on the hit song that became a worldwide holiday phenomenon, this goofy and heartwarming adventure features young Jake Spankenheimer on the quest of a lifetime to track his missing Grandma down on Christmas Eve and prove that Santa Claus is indeed real. Michele Lee ("Knots Landing") provides the voice of Jake's greedy Cousin Mel and recording artist Elmo Shropshire provides the narration.

"OLIVE, THE OTHER REINDEER"

A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL WITH THE VOICES OF DREW BARRYMORE, DAN CASTELLANETA, JOE PANTOLIANO AND EDWARD ASNER-- After mis-hearing a radio broadcast about Santa canceling his Christmas trip due to an injured reindeer, Olive the dog decides to travel to the North Pole and volunteer to be a replacement. Unfortunately, Olive must deal with an evil postman who's tired of handling all the extra Christmas mail. Will Martini the penguin be able to help Olive realize her dream? The special was directed by Steve Moore.
