ABC FAMILY HAS BEGUN PRODUCTION ON THE NEW PILOT "VILLAGE PEOPLE"

Burbank, CA (December 9, 2011) - ABC Family has begun production on their new pilot, "Village People," filming in Los Angeles. The multi-camera half-hour comedy stars Jennie Garth ("90210," "Dancing with the Stars"), John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld"), Sadie Calvano ("J. Edgar"), Sebastian Sozzi ("House"), and Rachel Cannon ("Two and a Half Men").

"Village People," from executive producer Meg DeLoatch ("Brothers," "Eve," "One on One"), follows Alexa (Garth), a single, high-powered career woman looking to start a family and ends up taking in the pregnant teenager (Calvano) she was planning to adopt from. Garth is also Executive Producer.

Part of the Disney/ABC Television Group, ABC Family is distributed in over 97 million homes. ABC Family features programming reflecting today's families, entertaining and connecting with adults through relatable programming about today's relationships - told with a mix of diversity, passion, humor and heart.
