The fund is dedicated to promoting safety in the fishing fleets and easing the burdens of the families and friends of fishermen/women lost at sea. Johnathan and Andy are captains of the ship Time Bandit. Their often treacherous travels on Alaska's Bering Sea during the crab fishing season are documented for the hit television show which returns for a new season in April.

Formed in 2008, Rowe's website and foundation support and promote the skilled trades and serve as a "PR Campaign for Hard Work." His on-air companion for his "Millionaire" appearance was Andrew Reisinger, a mikeroweWORKS Foundation 2011 Tools Scholarship recipient. The scholarship provides funds that are used to purchase tools that the recipient may need upon graduating from trade school.
