Beginning at 8:00 p.m. et/pt on Friday, February 17, Tribute Will Feature Two of Her Most Memorable Film Performances in "Waiting to Exhale" and "The Preacher's Wife"

Beverly Hills, Calif., February 14, 2011 - Whitney Houston - GRAMMY(R) Award-winning artist, Emmy(R) Award-winning actress, philanthropist and global icon - will be remembered on ENCORE, Friday, February 17 beginning at 8:00 p.m. (et/pt).

ENCORE's celebration of Houston's life will showcase her starring film roles in Waiting to Exhale at 8:00pm and The Preacher's Wife at 10:05pm.

Waiting to Exhale (1995) chronicles the narratives of four successful African-American women who endure the ups and downs of modern love in this witty, often hilarious film based on the best-selling novel. The film is directed by Forest Whitaker and stars Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston, Lela Rochon, Loretta Devine, Gregory Hines, Leon, and more. (USA, Rated R)

The Preacher's Wife (1996) tells the story of angel who comes to earth on a mission to restore a young preacher's faith and save his dying church. He unexpectedly falls for the preacher's wife. The film is directed by Penny Marshall and stars Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston, Gregory Hines, Loretta Devine, Lionel Richie, and more. (USA, Rated PG)
