Late-Night Series Will Also Present Week-Long Spotlight of Interviews and Music Performances from South By Southwest Beginning March 19

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 9, 2012 - NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly" announced that it will host its first-ever music showcase at the 2012 South by Southwest Music (SXSW) Festival, one of the world's largest music industry events, in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, March 14 (8 p.m. CT). "Last Call" will partner with Sony Entertainment Network's Music Unlimited Service to spotlight six artists, including Tennis, Roll the Tanks, Thee Oh Sees, Lee Fields and the Expressions, Bomba Estero and Cults, from the Red 7 Patio in Austin. Daly will serve as the emcee for the showcase and introduce each band prior to their performance.

The late-night series also will present a week-long spotlight of SXSW beginning Monday, March 19 (1:35-2:05 a.m. ET) through March 22. Interviews throughout the week will be announced at a later date.

Each show also will be re-broadcast the following day on Fuse.

"South By Southwest week is my favorite time of the year," said Daly. "I'm like a kid in the candy store. It's a magnet for new music and is a perfect fit with Last Call's commitment to help expose new talent."

"Last Call with Carson Daly" continues to push the boundaries of late-night television. Each night, "Last Call" hits the streets, taking the entire show on location, and bringing viewers along for the ride. Daly introduces his audience to the emerging artists and stories that viewers simply won't find anywhere else.

In recent years, "Last Call" has garnered acclaim for its gritty documentary style, emphasis on great storytelling, and status as late night TV's music tastemaker. Highlights from this season include: conversations with Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Blake Shelton, Electronic DJ Deadmau5 and performances from breakout band Foster The People and the TV debut of Walk The Moon.

"Last Call with Carson Daly" is produced by Universal Television. Stewart Bailey and Guy Oseary are the executive producers.
