MILITARY CHANNEL'S "NARROW ESCAPES OF WWII" FEATURES EXTRAORDINARY ELUSIONS AGAINST THE MOST IMPOSSIBLE ODDS

(Silver Spring, MD) - Military Channel's all-new series NARROW ESCAPES OF WWII honors the incredible heroes of World War II who stood up and fought when everything else seemed lost. The series highlights the brilliant generals and brave troops whose selfless acts of courage saved hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. Through their personal stories, this series recreates the suicidal raids, rearguard actions, and back-to-the-wall fighting it took to ensure, against all odds, that these men made it out alive. NARROW ESCAPES OF WWII makes its U.S. premiere Tuesday, May 15 at 10 PM E/P on the Military Channel.

The 13-episode first season includes:

The Doolittle Raid - Premieres Tuesday, May 15 at 10 PM E/P

To avenge the attack on Pearl Harbor, U.S. bombers staged an astonishing long-distance strike on Tokyo, all the while knowing they were unlikely to return alive.

The Amiens Raid - Premieres Tuesday, May 22 at 10 PM E/P

The Mosquito fighter planes behind Operation Jericho, led by Group Capt. Percy Charles Pickard, brought about the bombing of Amiens prison in German-occupied France so that French Resistance fighters and Allied spies could escape before their execution day.

Wingate & the Chindits - Premieres Tuesday, May 29 at 10 PM E/P

Surrounded by the Japanese, Orde Wingate led the 77th Indian Infantry Brigade in one of the most imaginative and complex escapes of World War II.

Additional episodes of NARROW ESCAPES OF WWII include amazing evasions by The Black Battalion at the Battle of the Bulge, Sir Robert "Lucky" Laycock in Crete, Australian General Leslie Morshead at Tobruk, and Major-General Roy Urquhart at Arnhem, as well as famous missions now known as Erich von Manstein's "Elastic Defence," The Battle of Kohima, Operation Hannibal, Moore's March, Operation Pedestal, and General Wilhelm Stemmermann's "Breakout through Hell's Gate."

NARROW ESCAPES OF WWII is produced by IMG Media for the Military Channel. For IMG Media, Mark Young and Richard Wise are executive producer. For Military Channel, Shane Bowler is producer, Ron Simon is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Ed Hersh is senior vice president of content and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager.
