MTV TAKES VIEWERS INSIDE THE WORLD OF "DEV" WITH THE DOCUMENTARY SPECIAL CHRONICLING THE RECORDING ARTIST AT A TURNING POINT IN HER CAREER ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 23RD AT 11PM ET/PT

New York, NY ( May 11, 2012) - MTV will give viewers an intimate look at the journey taken by one of music's young rising stars as she tries to balance making a mark on the recording industry while balancing family life with "DEV," a documentary special airing Wednesday, April 23rd at 11pm ET/PT. Viewers know Dev and her voice as the singer behind smash hits, Like A G6, In the Dark, and Naked - a duet with Enrique Iglesias - off her debut album The Night the Sun Came Up. However, with the documentary special, Dev brings cameras into her life at time when it was turned upside down as she prepared for the release of her debut album, climbed the ladder towards pop super stardom, while at the same time preparing for the arrival of her first child.

"I am so excited to share these very personal and crazy moments from the past year of my life with viewers, I hope I inspire everyone to keep it pushin, and to do YOU, no matter what!" said Dev. "The road to the release of my album was F*ckin insane, but my passion and love for making music made every bump completely worth it."

Viewers will find out what happened when Dev's high risk pregnancy coincides with the album release, leading her cautious label pushed the album back three times. Backed by the love and support of her fiancé Jimmy, loving family, and producer friends "The Cataracs," Dev faced the overwhelming pressure of impending motherhood head on while she tackled the challenges and schedule associated with trying to fulfill her dreams of being a pop star singer.

At 19 Dev moved to Los Angeles to Los Angeles to begin recording with the renowned hip hop production duo "The Cataracs." Their first viral hit "Booty Bounce," gained notoriety due in part to its edgy video. In March 2011 alone, Dev could be heard on a staggering three singles - Like a G6, Bass Down Low, Backseat - on Billboard's Hot 100. With the success of the triple-platinum Like a G6 single, The Cataracs and Dev set their sights on recording her freshman effort. The resultant album, The Night the Sun Came Up, released on March 27, 2012 doesn't skimp on the dance records, but it also offers more personal tracks such as "Running South."

"Dev" is Executive Produced by Jason Carbone, Nick Lee and Sarah Kane from Good Clean Fun. Lauren Dolgen, Jessica Zalkind, Jeff Hevert and Jennifer Russakoff are the Executives in Charge for MTV.
