LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Last year the broadcast networks offered up 35 originals to combat its usual summer doldrums. The result: a half dozen or so posted numbers that would make them proud even during the regular season. This time around another 30 (and counting) are on tap at ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW. Will new franchises be born? Or will most live up to the usual afterthought label given to the coming months? Here's a recap of how last year's shows fared so you can throttle your expectations accordingly.
Plus, be sure to check out our complete list of summer premiere dates - both broadcast and cable.
