Katherine Flynn-Vizzini Expands Role as Vice President, Strategic Development

NEW YORK, June 4, 2012 - Sam Michaels has been named senior vice president of strategic development, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios, it was announced today by Catherine Dunleavy, executive vice president and chief financial officer for the group. Michaels will report to Dunleavy as he assesses new and monetizable trends and develops strategies for business opportunities both across and within the Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios portfolio. Additionally, Katherine Flynn-Vizzini will expand her role as vice president, strategic development for the group, where she reports to Michaels.

Previously, Michaels was vice president in the NBCU Strategic Planning & Development Group, where he worked on a number of company-wide strategic initiatives and acquisitions, including the Weather Channel joint venture and the more recent NBCU/Comcast merger. Prior to NBCU, Michaels was a vice president in the Media Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse where he advised publishing, education and entertainment clients on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance and structured product alternatives.

Michaels received his MBA from Georgetown University and his BS in Finance/Economics from Babson College.

Before assuming her new role as vice president, strategic development, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios, Flynn-Vizzini was previously vice president, finance, for the group, where she worked on integration and competitive analysis and strategy. She played a critical role in the NBCU/Comcast merger, leading the valuation and finance integration work for the contributed assets. Prior to working with Cable Entertainment, she was Vice President of Finance for MSNBC.

Flynn-Vizzini received her MBA from Rutgers University and her BS in Accounting from Villanova University.
