INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S "ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN" BREAKS 1.0 BENCHMARK FOR FOURTH TIME WITH SEASON SIX PREMIERE

(Silver Spring, MD) - ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN has been a cornerstone of Investigation Discovery's schedule at 10 PM on Sunday nights since the series' launch in October 2009. And this past Sunday, June 3, ON THE CASE launched its sixth season with a 1.01 Household rating, which is the fourth time the series has broken the 1.0 benchmark in primetime. The season premiere delivered 947k People 2+, which represents the second highest primetime audience in the series' history. In this episode, "Mystery in the Desert," Zahn explored an investigation that spanned five decades and the clemency requests of William Macumber, who claims he was framed for the double-murder by his ex-wife.

Additionally, Investigation Discovery is greenlighting a seventh season of ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN, slated to premiere in 4th Quarter 2012. As the network's original newsmagazine, ON THE CASE is a shining example of ID's core brand mission to investigate life's mysteries through riveting storytelling. Next week's premiere on Sunday, June 10 explores the murder of Rhonda Boggs near Columbus, OH. Zahn sits down with one suspect, who speaks about his harrowing experience for the first time, and retraces the intricacies of the investigation, including a shocking and controversial confession.
