Program to Offer Certification for Fitness Professionals to Become "Biggest Loser Pros," as well as Direct-to-Consumer Fitness Options
Free Online Workout Sessions to Debut on July 18
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 12, 2012 - NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group announced today the launch of "The Biggest Loser Live Training" program through a partnership with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). The program will offer certification for fitness professionals to become official "Biggest Loser Pros," as well as direct-to-consumer fitness options with both online and on-site training.
The certified AFAA trainers who complete the required educational program will be able to provide their clients with safe and effective ways to lose weight, and fans and viewers of the NBC reality series will now have the opportunity to connect face-to-face with a registered "Biggest Loser Pro."
To mark the debut of The Biggest Loser Live Training, AFAA will offer free workout sessions conducted live online with a certified AFAA Biggest Loser Pro. This online event will take place on Wednesday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (PT), and will feature a series of 20-minute workouts running every half-hour throughout the duration of the event. The deal between AFAA and NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products was brokered by Russ Kamalski and Nora Wong of L.A.-based Consumer Strategies, Inc. The Biggest Loser Live Training is licensed through NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group and Shine America, the company behind "The Biggest Loser."
