SPIKE TV'S HIT ORIGINAL SERIES "BAR RESCUE" RETURNS FOR A SECOND ROUND ON SUNDAY, JULY 22

Renowned Bar and Nightclub Consultant Jon Taffer Puts His Reputation On The Line As He Brings His No-Nonsense Brand Of Expertise and Attitude to Failing Drinking Establishments Nationwide

New York, NY, June 13, 2012 - Spike TV's hit reality series "Bar Rescue" returns for another round on Sunday, July 22 at 9:00 PM, ET/PT. From the producers of "The Biggest Loser" and "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition," the series follows one of the country's top nightlife consultants, Jon Taffer, wielding his nearly three decades of experience in the food and beverage, hotel and hospitality industries to help give failing establishments one last chance to transform themselves into vibrant, profitable businesses.

Over the course of the new season, Taffer will visit a different failing establishment in cities all around the country, including Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. His brash approach may ruffle feathers along the way, but Taffer pulls no punches and values bottom lines above hurt feelings. Owners and employees he believes are standing in the way of success are urged to check their egos at the door, as he employs a proven scientific approach to solving the problems befalling bars. From aligning furniture to encourage more eye contact and social interaction, to analyzing the rate of alcohol consumption in relation to tempo of music, to devising menu layouts that steer customers to the most profitable items, Taffer leaves no stone unturned in his mission to reinvigorate bars that are struggling.

The debut episode features Taffer and his crew of experts trying to save the Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring, MD from sinking. Opened with the intention of providing its patrons an escape from reality, the employees at Piratz Tavern have begun to take its theme too seriously - a waiter even lost an eye during a swordfight with a fellow employee. Years of mismanagement have cost owner Tracy Rebelo her life savings, and she and her daughter have been forced to move into her parents' basement. To dig herself out of her financial hole, Taffer must find a way to convince Rebelo to abandon the theme she holds so dear in order to appeal to the neighborhood's primarily corporate clientele.

"Bar Rescue" will also feature Taffer's wife, Nicole, and daughter, Samantha, along with a rotating group of experts, including executive chef Josh Capon of Burger and Barrel and the Lure Fishbar in New York, Diageo brands' chief mixologist Elayne Duke, chef Brian Duffy of CBD Solution, hospitality consultant Jesse Barnes, and official DJ and musical director for Eminem, Nas, and Jay-Z, DJ Green Lantern.
