IFC Original Comedy Series "Portlandia" Nominated for Two Emmy(TM) Awards

Portlandia Nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

New York, NY - July 19, 2012 - The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has honored IFC's original comedy series Portlandia with two Emmy nominations. Created and written by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel, Portlandia welcomes viewers to the creators' romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR. Portlandia is on the ballot for the following categories: Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. The series previously won a 2011 Emmy award for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or Special and a 2011 Peabody Award.

Season three of Portlandia returns to IFC in January 2013 and the one-hour summer event, Portlandia: The Brunch Special, premieres Friday, July 20 at 11pm.
