The Weather Channel Covers Tropical Storm Isaac Live From Cuba

First-Time Live Coverage From Cuba and New Interactive Hurricane Tracker Helps Keep Consumers Safe and Follow Storm's Path

ATLANTA (August 23, 2012) - As Isaac progresses through the Atlantic Ocean and to the Gulf of Mexico, The Weather Channel will cover a tropical storm live from Cuba for the first time ever, giving viewers an eyewitness account of the storm's effects. As Isaac threatens to affect millions of people, The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) is fulfilling its mission to help prepare and keep people safe during severe weather events. The company is taking extensive measures across all of its platforms - TV, online, mobile and tablet - to keep viewers and users informed. Measures include:

TV: The Weather Channel will send meteorologists out in the field to cover Tropical Storm Isaac as it heads to the Gulf of Mexico, possibly affecting the Republican National Convention. On-camera meteorologists will be stationed throughout points along the storm's path:

· Stephanie Abrams (@StephanieAbrams) will host an extended version "Wake Up With Al", live from the Florida Keys beginning at 5:30 a.m. ET.

· Mike Seidel (@MikeSeidel) will be live from Varadero, Cuba on Friday, Aug. 24, beginning at 4 p.m. ET.

· Jim Cantore (@JimCantore) will be in Florida. Location TBD. (NOTE: These locations are fluid and may change quickly depending on Tropical Storm Isaac's path).

WEATHER.COM at Hurricane Central: Available at www.weather.com/hurricane, this is a one-stop shop for the most up-to-date news and information on current tropical systems, hurricane preparedness tips, and historical data on past storms. The following tools can be found at Hurricane Central:
