CHILLER UNVEILS AIRDATES FOR OCTOBER ORIGINALS

Debuts of Original Horror Movie "Dead Souls" and Original Documentary Film "The American Scream"

NEW YORK, NY - August 30, 2012 - This October, Chiller gets into the spirit with two all-new premieres: original movie Dead Souls (Friday, October 12 @ 9pm) and original documentary The American Scream (Sunday, October 28 @ 8pm).

About Dead Souls

For his 18th birthday, Johnny Petrie is presented with some surprising news. Not only was he adopted but also learns that he has inherited his birth family's farm in Maine, abandoned for the past 18 years since his natural family died at the hands of his father, the local preacher. Eager for a new life, he leaves home to start over in his new dwelling. However, as he digs into his past, he soon uncovers the horrifying details of his father's questionable studies. In a frightening revelation, he also learns that his return has revived decades-old forces trapped in the home and sets in motion a heart-stopping finale to a ritual that already claimed the lives of his family.

Dead Souls stars Jesse James (The Amityville Horror, The Flyboys) as Johnny, Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Devil's Rejects, House of 1,000 Corpses), Magda Apanowicz (The Butterfly Effect, Caprica), Noah Fleiss (Brick), Jaiden Kaine (Hellbenders) and Geraldine Hughes (Rocky Balboa, Gran Torino). Adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker Award Finalist Michael Laimo, the film is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O'Brien produce for Synthetic Cinema International.

About The American Scream

From the same director/producer of the critically-acclaimed hit documentary Best Worst Movie (2009), The American Scream is an unconventional look at the Halloween cultural phenomenon of homemade haunted houses and the enthusiasts behind the scenes. Filmed in the sleepy enclave of Fairhaven, MA, The American Scream follows the creative minds behind three local homemade haunts and their passionate - and sometimes harrowing - efforts in igniting their town's Halloween spirit each year.

Prior to premiering on Chiller, The American Scream will debut as an official selection of Fantastic Fest, held September 20-27 in Austin, Texas. The American Scream is produced by Michael and Lindsay Stephenson, Zack Carlson and Rod Olson for Magic Stone Productions and Meyer Shwarzstein of Brainstorm Media; Michael Stephenson directs.

Chiller is the only cable channel devoted to delivering viewers round-the-clock scares. Chiller's eclectic slate of adrenaline-fueled, soul-stirring entertainment includes a broad offering of original movies and specials, genre films, international programming (Afterlife, Apparitions), documentary and reality shows (Fear Factor), anthology series (Masters of Horror) and some of the most thought-provoking and suspenseful series ever on television (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Outer Limits).
