TV GUIDE NETWORK BRINGS VIEWERS MORE LAUGHS WITH THE SECOND SEASON PREMIERE OF "STANDUP IN STILETTOS"
Kate Flannery of "The Office" Returns as Host of the Original Stand-up Series Featuring Familiar Faces and Rising Stars of the Comedy Circuit Today
LOS ANGELES (October 8, 2012) - TV Guide Network is bringing back its popular original comedy series, "StandUp in Stilettos," hosted by actress Kate Flannery ("The Office"). The second season, which will premiere on Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, will feature three stand-up comediennes per episode, including many well-known names and faces on today's comedy scene. Scheduled to appear in this season's "StandUp in Stilettos" are: Thea Vidale ("Thea," "The Drew Carey Show"); Cory Kahaney (guest appearances on "Late Night with David Letterman," "Last Comic Standing"); Cathy Ladman (guest appearances on "The Tonight Show"); Luenell ("Borat," "Think Like a Man"); and Laurie Kilmartin (writer for "Conan").
"There are so many great, funny women we couldn't fit them all in one season. Not even close!" said Kate Flannery. "This show is a great half-hour of stand-up comedy. The only difference between our show and other stand-up shows is that occasionally there's lipstick on the mic."
Season two of "StandUp in Stilettos" includes 12 half-hour episodes featuring comedic material for, by and about women. Hosted by Kate Flannery, each show will be shot in front of a live audience set in a comedy club. Flannery is best known for playing Dunder Mifflin's alcoholic, accident prone, Meredith Palmer on NBC's award-winning "The Office." She has made numerous appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and has been a guest on all the late night talk shows including "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Chelsea Lately." A former member of Second City's National Tour Co., Flannery is an original member of Chicago's Annoyance Theater where she co-created over 15 shows, including "The Miss Vagina Pageant" and "The Real Live Brady Bunch," which played in over 30 cities and at the Kennedy Center. Kate is also known for being one-half of the cult comedy lounge act "The Lampshades," which performs regularly to sold out audiences across the country. "StandUp in Stilettos" is produced by TV Guide Network.
