DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S HIT SERIES "MOONSHINERS" RETURNS FOR A SECOND SEASON STARTING NOVEMBER 7 AT 10PM

White Lightning, Bathtub Gin, Mountain Dew, or just plain Moonshine - it has many names - but what remains true is it's made in secret and it's illegal. Bootleggers, backwoods stills and American family traditions continue on Discovery Channel with the second season premiere of MOONSHINERS on November 7 at 10PM/ET. A Moonshiner can make more than $100,000 a year, tax free, but they have a reputation for being iniquitous and corrupt. Season two of MOONSHINERS continues to follow those who take serious precautions to remain safe as they practice the art of making moonshine, and the law enforcement tasked with capturing them.

Tim Smith, the most wanted moonshiner in the U.S., is back with the agility and ease needed to be the best at what he does while remaining safe from the law. His desire to go legal remains strong, and causes serious conflict, as his partner and sidekick, Tickle, helps keep the outlaw distillers running and moonshine adventures rolling. Deputy Sheriff Chuck, a law enforcement veteran, has spent the last decade trying to catch bootleggers and moonshiners in the act of making moonshine, and it's no easy task. Smith is adept at leaving no traces or fingerprints, and his moonshine ventures are a high stakes game of constant pursuit, near captures, and repeated escapes.

Change is in the air in this all new season of MOONSHINERS as a moonshine legend has been lost. With the passing of Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton, new characters are introduced as moonshine sites are compromised and new moonshine methods and new dangers come into play. Among others, new characters this season include:

· Jeff and Mark - Brothers-in-law, Jeff is a seventh generation moonshiner and continues the family tradition of making the best moonshine around, while keeping his family fed and bills paid. Mark is a fourth generation moonshiner, mountain man and expert marksman whose family lives off the land.

· Jim Tom - A larger than life veteran moonshiner who has taught Jeff and Mark much of what he knows about making superior Moonshine.

· Josh and Bill - Rookie moonshiners who build a massive underground still site hidden in a very public space. Since most moonshiners build their stills in the woods, camouflaged from sight and law enforcement, these brazen beginners are pressing their luck from the very start. Josh's constant canine companion throughout his travels and adventures is Cutie Pie.

MOONSHINERS is produced for Discovery Channel by Magilla Entertainment, where Matthew Ostrom, Brian Flanagan and Laura Johnson are executive producers. Dolores Gavin is executive producer for Discovery Channel.
