Beverly Hills, Calif., October 24, 2012 - This Thanksgiving, ENCORE LOVE and ENCORE ACTION will serve up several helpings of blockbuster and fan favorite films with two special marathons, including a "Tuneful Thanksgiving Marathon" featuring such festive fare as La Bamba, Evita, Oklahoma!, Honey, Rent and more, on Thanksgiving Day. Then digest with three days of action packed films including Men in Black, Species, Godzilla, Ghostbusters, The Abyss and The Last Starfighter, as part of ENCORE ACTION'S "Sci-Fi Invasion," kicking off Friday, November 23rd. Thanksgiving week, ENCORE will feature the six-time EMMY(R) and two-time Golden Globe(R) Award-winning miniseries, "Lonesome Dove," beginning on Monday, November 19th and concluding on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22nd at 8pm ET/PT as part of "The Big Miniseries Showcase."

ENCORE'S "THE BIG MINISERIES SHOWCASE" PRESENTS: LONESOME DOVE (1988)

Monday November 19 -Thursday November 22 at 8pm (followed by a marathon on Sunday, November 25 beginning at 11:30am)

The four-part, epic western tale "Lonesome Dove" tells the story of a pair of old friends - former Texas Rangers and ranching partners - who decide to drive a cattle herd to Montana, facing bad weather, murderers, accidents and romantic peril along the way. Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones and Danny Glover lead an all-star cast in this grand adventure about a Montana cattle drive. "The Big Miniseries Showcase" is a weekly programming destination of fan favorites and classic titles, premiering every Monday night on ENCORE.
