"JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE" CELEBRATES THIRD ANNUAL NATIONAL UNFRIEND DAY WITH A CALL TO ACTION FROM VIEWERS

In 2010 Jimmy Kimmel declared November 17 National Unfriend Day, "NUD," a national holiday dedicated to giving Facebook users a guilt-free opportunity to "unfriend" people who aren't actually friends.

In honor of the 3rd annual "NUD" celebration, Kimmel is encouraging viewers to evaluate their Facebook "friendships" and unfriend those unworthy of friend status.

Tune in to "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on ABC at midnight this week to catch additional ways to celebrate and participate in "NUD."

"Jimmy Kimmel Live," which currently airs weeknights at midnight in most markets but is moving to its new time slot of 11:35 p.m. beginning January 8, 2013, broadcasts from Disney's El Capitan Theater, located on Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of L.A.'s star-studded Walk of Fame. Kimmel showcases this illustrious location's unique character throughout his show by regularly interacting with the local "Super Heroes" parading along the boulevard and challenging passersby to participate in various comedy bits. He has also created many one-of-a-kind concert experiences, closing down Hollywood streets around his studio to hold musical block party events with artists such as Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Depeche Mode, as well as special outdoor and lobby performances by Adele, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Tony Bennett, Pitbull, Britney Spears, Lady Antebellum, Usher, Lenny Kravitz, Brad Paisley, Lil Wayne, Phoenix, 50 Cent, No Doubt and Dave Matthews Band.
