TBS Unveils New Windows Store App for the Ultimate Comedy Experience

TBS has launched a brand new Windows Store app featuring a touch-centric interface that allows users to customize their daily dose of comedy and share the laughter with friends. The TBS app for Windows 8 is now available for free download from the Windows Store.

The TBS app takes advantage of new Windows user interface capabilities and provides users with easy customization and sharing functionality. With a couple of swipes, users can get an overview of featured content, a schedule of TBS shows and personalized saved content. Users can create personal favorites lists of videos to watch from a wide range of comedy shows on TBS, including the late-night hit CONAN; primetime originals like Men at Work, Sullivan & Son and Cougar Town; and acquired favorites like The Big Bang Theory and Family Guy.

"At TBS, we are not only creating and acquiring some of the best comedy content available, we're also exploring new ways to make that content available and shareable," said Dennis Adamovich, senior vice president of digital, affiliate, lifestyle and enterprise commerce for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "The TBS app for Windows 8 utilizes the power of the digital world's latest platform to take comedy to a whole new level."

The following are just a few of the highlights in the new TBS app for Windows 8:

Main Hub: Comedy fans can dive right in with full access to featured video clips, TBS shows and the full TBS schedule.

Personalized Content: TBS offers the funniest videos from a huge arsenal of content, divided by category. With the TBS app, users can easily scroll through and view the wide array of comedy to find that perfect nerdism from The Big Bang Theory or the snappiest comeback from Men at Work.

Featured Videos: Comedy fans spend a lot of time online following favorite comics, watching the latest pop-culture parodies and sharing videos. Each day, the TBS app offers fresh video content, such as the best moments from the previous night's CONAN. The featured videos also include user favorites, like a classic Family Guy musical number.

Show Details: The Show Details section of the TBS app is a great place for users to dive deeper into their favorite shows and learn fun facts.

Favorites: Users have the ability to create their own Favorites list from the variety of TBS shows to choose from.

Tile: Users can get a sneak peek of the fresh comedy right on their Start Screen with the continuously updated TBS tile.

Share: Using the Share Charm, users can easily share videos via email, instant message, social networks and/or blogs.

Snap: Users can snap the TBS app to display two apps at the same time. Snap is handy if someone is watching funny content while working on a document or cooking a favorite recipe at the same time.

Semantic Zoom: The TBS app allows the user to stretch an on-screen element to zoom in, or pinch it to view the full display.
