NBC HITS THE HIGH NOTES WITH GRAMMY NOMINATIONS FOR ADAM LEVINE AND BLAKE SHELTON OF "THE VOICE," JIMMY FALLON AND "SMASH"
NBC's been making beautiful music this past year with its successful programming, and some high notes were especially underscored yesterday with the announcement of Grammy nominations for the network's stars and shows -- Adam Levine (with Maroon 5) and Blake Shelton of "The Voice," Jimmy Fallon and "Smash."
Shelton was honored with a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for his song "Over"; Levine and his legendary band Maroon 5 received two nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album in "Overexposed" and for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the collaboration of Maroon 5 & Khalifa's "Payphone."
Fallon earned a Grammy nod for Best Comedy Album for "Blow Your Pants Off"; and NBC's returning musical drama series "Smash" was a nominee as Best Song Written for Visual Media ("Let Me Be Your Star" from series songwriters Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman; performed by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty). Shaiman and Wittman are also executive producers on "Smash."
