"MAGIC CITY" TURNS UP THE HEAT IN MIAMI CASTING RAP ICON RICK ROSS

SEASON TWO RETURNS SUMMER 2013

(Beverly Hills, Calif. - January 8, 2013) - "Magic City" has added another famous face to its all-star lineup. Season two of the critically acclaimed series will feature legendary rapper Rick Ross as "Butterball," the proprietor of an illegal Cuban/American gambling house in Miami known as a "bolita," (the numbers racket). There are numerous bolitas in the Miami area and not surprisingly, Ben "the Butcher" Diamond (Golden Globe(R) nominee for Best Supporting Actor, Danny Huston) is getting a cut from the illicit operations.

Ross burst onto the rap scene in 2006 when his debut album "Port of Miami" reached the top of the Billboard Music charts. Ross then founded the record label, Maybach Music Group, on which he released his studio albums "Deeper Than Rap" (2009) "Teflon Don" (2010) and "God Forgives, I Don't" (2012). A huge fan of the series, Ross visited the "Magic City" set while in Miami last year and met the show's creator Mitch Glazer who found a role for him.

The new season of "Magic City" will also see the return of creator and executive producer Mitch Glazer (The Recruit, Scrooged) as well as performers Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen, "Grey's Anatomy") whose recent film The Possession held the number one spot at the box office three weeks in a row, Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace, Max Payne), Danny Huston (The Kingdom, Children of Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Kelly Lynch (Drugstore Cowboy, Charlie's Angels), Steven Strait (City Island), Christian Cooke (Cemetery Junction), Jessica Marais ("Packed to the Rafters"), Yul Vazquez (The A-Team, American Gangster), Dominik Garcia-Lorido (City Island) and Elena Satine (Just Go With It).

Along with Mitch Glazer, Geyer Kosinski (Changeling, The Astronaut Farmer) and Fred Berner ("Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent") serve as executive producers.

Season two of "Magic City" will air exclusively on STARZ in summer 2013.
