HOUSE OF LIES' Don Cheadle Wins For Best Actor in A Television Series, Comedy

LOS ANGELES - January 13, 2013 - SHOWTIME was honored with four Golden Globe Awards this evening, the most series wins of any network for the second year in a row, and the most wins ever in the network's history. The critically-acclaimed drama series HOMELAND, this year's top nominated series, was recognized for Best Television Series, Drama - its second year in a row winning the category - and for lead actors Claire Danes and Damian Lewis. Additionally, Don Cheadle was honored for his work in the network's original comedy series HOUSE OF LIES.

Three-time nominee Damian Lewis received his first ever Golden Globe win for his critically-acclaimed role as "Nicholas Brody" on HOMELAND. Lead actress Claire Danes garnered her fourth Golden Globe win for her compelling portrayal of "Carrie Mathison." Tonight's wins mark the first time that a SHOWTIME nominated actress and series have won in consecutive years.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association also recognized Don Cheadle for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical for his work as "Marty Kaan" on the SHOWTIME original comedy HOUSE OF LIES, which premieres its second season tonight at 10 p.m. The win marked the series' first ever award, and Cheadle's second Golden Globe. He was recognized in 1999 for his role on "The Rat Pack."
