LATE-NIGHT FOOD CONNOSSIEUR MIKEY ROE GOES DEEP INTO THE NIGHT TO EXPLORE THE BEST AFTER-HOURS EATERIES IN AMERICA ON TRAVEL CHANNEL'S "FEED THE BEAST"

New Original Series Premieres Wednesday, March 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with Back-to-Back Episodes

CHEVY CHASE, MD (January 23, 2013) - They say nothing good happens after 2:00 a.m., but late-night food expert Mikey Roe will show you otherwise! After years of exploring the most extreme and delicious open-all-night food spots, Roe is taking viewers on a tour of America's best after-hours eateries on Travel Channel's new original series "Feed the Beast," premiering Wednesday, March 6 with two back-to-back episodes beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. In each of the six half-hour episodes, host Mikey Roe explores a different city, including New York, Austin, Texas, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Hitting the streets, he reveals the hottest food scenes and must-have meals for any pre-dawn menu, whether you're ending the night or just starting the day.

Taking in the food, people and nightlife, Roe discovers a dynamic scene and flavor distinct to each city - from a gourmet hot dog shop with a hidden speakeasy in New York City or a Native American food truck in Seattle, to kimchi fries in Austin and lobster pizza in Los Angeles. Meeting with locals, chefs and patrons, he uncovers just what makes each post-midnight meal so delectable and unforgettable. And ultimately, before the sun rises, he'll crown his favorite local fare.

In the first half-hour episode of the season premiere (9:00 p.m. ET/PT), Mikey Roe heads to the city by the Bay: San Francisco. And what better place to start his food mission than the Mission District - home to El Farolito, a taqueria famous for their two-pound super burrito? After conquering the gigantic "Boss's Burrito," Roe spots El Volado - one of San Francisco's legendary party buses - and hops aboard. Making a detour to Butter, a local watering hole in the SoMa district, Roe discovers this dive bar has a wild menu of Spaghetti-O's, deep-fried Twinkies covered in candy and a deep-fried PB & J dessert. Next, it's off to Yuet Lee in Chinatown, one of Roe's all-time favorites. After hand-selecting his crab and devouring their delicious "ginger crab" dish, Roe delves into unchartered territory with another specialty of theirs: frog! With only a few hours left until sunrise, it's off to Grubstake, a Portuguese diner set inside a retired rail car that's been satisfying late-night crowds since the 1920s. It's the perfect place to cap off the night.

In the second half of the season opener (9:30 p.m. ET/PT), Roe heads to Austin, Texas, beginning his night on East 6th Street - the nerve center of all the late-night action in the city. After devouring delicious kimchi fries at Chi'lantro's food cart, Roe has his sights set on Frank, home to "the ultimate trinity" of booze, bands and artisan sausages. Here, he's introduced to the Jackalope: a custom-made antelope, rabbit and pork sausage with cranberry compote, Sriracha aioli and cheddar cheese! In search of true Texas barbeque, Roe then hops a cab and discovers the best late-night barbeque experience - Sam's Barbeque. And finally, with only a few hours left until sunrise, he heads straight to the ultimate after-show party - Magnolia Café - where the evening rush STARTS at 3:30 a.m.!
