TRAVEL CHANNEL TAKES VIEWERS ON A HARROWING PARANORMAL JOURNEY IN AN ALL-NEW SEASON OF THE HIT SERIES "THE DEAD FILES" - PREMIERING FRIDAY, MARCH 8 AT 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

Former NYPD Homicide Detective Steve DiSchiavi and Medium Amy Allan Return to Uncover Mysteries Buried Within Haunted Locations Across the U.S.

CHEVY CHASE, MD (January 31, 2013) - From the Jersey Shore to Death Valley, the Appalachians to the Great Lakes, Travel Channel's captivating series "The Dead Files" returns for a new season of unforgettable paranormal investigations. The extraordinary duo - retired homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi and medium Amy Allan - team up once again to investigate claims of frightening, unexplained activity in haunted locations across America to help quell fears and restore peace to their clients. Season four, with thirteen hour-long episodes, premieres Friday, March 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and features some of the most terrifying, disturbing and high-stakes cases yet.

In each episode, Allan and DiSchiavi travel to a different U.S. town, where they explore each case separately. As a no-nonsense detective, Steve DiSchiavi investigates the facts behind every situation, meeting with witnesses and local experts to piece together the real story. Medium Amy Allan channels the dead to understand what spirit activity lies within the haunted building at hand. In order to preserve the integrity of their discoveries, each investigator's methods and findings are kept hidden from the other until the very end. Only then do they finally come together to reveal the results to the homeowners - ultimately formulating into one shocking and undeniable conclusion.

"'The Dead Files' is an engrossing program that is incredibly popular with our viewers," said Andy Singer, GM, Travel Channel. "As the audience journeys with Steve and Amy, each location provides a fascinating glimpse at haunted America and the opportunity to experience the country from a whole new perspective."

Season four begins in Egg Harbor City, NJ where one couple's home has turned from a cozy fixer-upper into a living hell. Despite making renovations, "dark feelings" intensified and manifested into unexplained voices, shadow figures and an overwhelming sense of being watched - frightening both the couple and their five-year-old son. As the team attempts to help the family, DiSchiavi discovers the house was previously the site of a suicide and next to a former sanatorium that saw its share of death. When Allan makes contact with the spirits, she discovers something far more dark and frightening.

Additional locations this season include a house in Browns Summit, NC where haunted activity is adversely affecting one family's health; a childhood home in Wabash, IN that has taken on paranormal activity since it was rebuilt after a mysterious fire; the former home to a murderous mobster in Rock Island, IL that's ridden with unexplained shadows and noises; a Watervleit, MI home overcome with aggressive activity that terrorizes its inhabitants; a 19th century mansion in Buchanan, VA with dark secrets; and two haunted hotels - the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, WY and The Amargosa Hotel & Opera House in Death Valley, CA, both of which are rapidly losing business due to terrified guests.

"The Dead Files" is produced by Painless Entertainment, Inc. for the Travel Channel. For Painless, the executive producer is Jim Casey and the co-executive producers are Ross Kaiman and Rob Rosen. The executive producer for the Travel Channel is David E. Gerber.
