BEVERLY HILLS COP (CBS) - Comedian Kevin Pollak has scored a role on the Eye's small screen take on the Eddie Murphy film franchise, about Axel Foley's son Aaron (Brandon T. Jackson) who follows in his father's footsteps. He'll play Rodney Daloof, the in-house lawyer for the Beverly Hills Police Department who's incredibly risk-averse and a stickler for the rules. Shawn Ryan is behind the hour, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
HOW THE HELL AM I NORMAL? (ABC) - Darien Provost ("Tooth Fairy") is the latest to board the pilot, a family comedy set in the 1980s about "an in-your-face mother (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and hot-tempered father (Jeff Garlin) who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can't bear to see them grow up." He'll play one of said trio, the geeky yet loveable Adam, whose future self narrates the show a la "The Wonder Years." Seth Gordon is helming the single-camera project from a script by Adam F. Goldberg for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
MIXOLOGY (ABC) - Kate Simses ("What's Your Number?") is the first to be cast on the comedy pilot, about five guys and five girls trying to find love at Mix, a trendy Manhattan bar, over the course of one night. She'll play Liv, "the alt-cute, smart, deeply indecisive girl engaged to a lovably boring I-Banker but starting to have second thoughts." Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are behind the ABC Studios-based half-hour, which has also added Ryan Seacrest and Nina Wass of Ryan Seacrest Productions as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
ORIGINALS, The CW (The CW) - Charles Michael Davis ("The Game") has been cast in the proposed "Vampire Diaries" spin-off, about the Original family of vampires. He'll play Marcel, Klaus's (Joseph Morgan) diabolical former protégé who now calls the shots in the supernatural playground of New Orleans. Daniel Gillies, Daniella Pineda and Phoebe Tonkin also star in the backdoor pilot episode, which is set to air on April 25. (Deadline.com)
RECKLESS (CBS) - Dana Stevens's drama - about a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney who struggle to hide their attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal that threatens to implode the city - is the latest to land a pilot commitment at the Eye. Said effort is set up at CBS Television Studios with Ian Sander and Kim Moses executive producing alongside Stevens. (Deadline.com)
UNDER THE DOME (CBS) - Aisha Hinds ("Detroit 1-8-7") is the latest to board the ever-expanding cast of the upcoming drama, about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. She'll play Carolyn Hill, "a take-no-prisoners Los Angeles entertainment attorney who is trapped in Chester's Mill while driving through town with her partner, and their daughter, on their way to deliver their teenaged daughter to a camp for troubled youth." Alex Koch, Britt Robertson, Colin Ford, Jolene Purdy, Natalie Martinez and Nicholas Strong also star in the project, which is based on Stephen King's best-selling novel of the same name. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CULLEN BROTHERS PILOT (ABC) - Ben Koldyke ("Work It") has boarded the comedy pilot, about a recently divorced single mother (yet to be cast) who temporarily moves in with her estranged father (James Caan), a beer-swilling former baseball player. He's set as Dick Slingbaugh, an unbearably cocky Little League coach. In addition, John Requa and Glenn Ficarra ("Crazy, Stupid, Love.") have signed on to direct the single-camera project from a script by Mark and Robb Cullen for 20th Century Fox Television. Griffin Gluck also stars. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GOOR & SCHUR PROJECT (FOX) - Melissa Fumero ("One Life to Live") has booked the female lead on the single-camera comedy pilot, about a diverse group of detectives in New York's 191st Precinct. She'll play Amy Santiago ("cute, extremely competitive"), one of said group, a former middle-school teacher who finds criminals a piece of cake when compared to sixth graders. Andy Samberg and Terry Crews also star in the Universal Television-based project, from co-directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord and co-creators Dan Goor and Michael Schur. (Deadline.com)
