Amy Chiaro Named Executive Producer Of The Emmy Award-Winning "The Dr. Oz Show"

NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2013 -- After serving more than three seasons as co-executive producer, Amy Chiaro has been upped to an executive producer of the Emmy(R) Award-winning The Dr. Oz Show. Ms. Chiaro will continue to serve alongside executive producer Mindy Borman , with whom she launched the show in 2009. The Dr. Oz Show, produced by ZoCo Productions, Harpo Studios and Sony Pictures Television, continues to hold rank as the highest rated daytime talk show premiere since 2002.

"The Dr. Oz Show simply would not be what it is today without Amy's input and leadership," said Holly Jacobs , Executive Vice President, Reality & Syndication Programming, Sony Pictures Television. "Her contributions have not only produced a globally successful talk show, but have helped create the largest advocacy outlet for women's health in broadcast television."

"Amy has an extensive news background and an innate sense of how to make 'Dr. Oz' a magnetic daily show. She has been invaluable for the past three seasons and we are thrilled that she will expand her role, continuing to ensure that each hour informs, entertains and enhances viewers' lives," said Erik Logan and Sheri Salata , Presidents of OWN and Harpo Productions.

On Ms. Chiaro's watch, The Dr. Oz Show has produced close to 600 original episodes, earned two Daytime Emmy(R) Awards for Outstanding Informative Talk Show and ranks consistently among the top four syndicated talk shows nationally. The show, along with its internationally renowned host Mehmet Oz , M.D., is considered at the forefront of the national conversation on health and has had enormous social impact - from the millions of viewers who have participated in the show's wellness programs.

"Amy's role has been critical from the inception of the show," said host Mehmet Oz , M.D. "Her ability to creatively apply her news background to our show has allowed us to serve our audience with critical information and steps they can take to live a healthier life, presented to them with a unique and entertaining twist."

Prior to The Dr. Oz Show, Ms. Chiaro served as a senior broadcast producer on the NBC's national morning show Today, and was responsible for producing the 7:00-9:00 a.m. hours. She simultaneously served as executive producer of the Today Weekend Edition, where she oversaw all aspects of production for the weekend morning show.

A 13-year NBC News veteran, Ms. Chiaro was recognized by TV Week magazine's 2009 hot list of "Leaders Under the Age of 35." She began her career in news at NBC as a researcher and quickly rose through the ranks to domestic and foreign news editor, followed by senior editor. She then served in the NBC News northeast bureau as associate producer, covering breaking news for Nightly News, Today and MSNBC.

A graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, Ms. Chiaro began her career working at numerous local news and radio stations.
