BELIEVE (NBC) - Sienna Guillory, Jamie Chung, Delroy Lindo and Johnny Sequoyah have both been cast in the drama pilot, about Bo, a 10-year-old girl in possession of a great powers and William Tate (Jake McLaughlin), a death row inmate sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down. Newcomer Sequoyah will play said girl with Lindo as Winter, a member of an international security organization who helps Tate escape. Chung then is set as Channing, Winter's all business associate, while Guillory will play Moore, a hitwoman after Bo. The Warner Bros. Television-based Bad Robot is behind the hour, which Alfonso Cuarón is directing from a script he co-wrote with Mark Friedman. (THR.com)
BIG THUNDER (ABC) - Ana De La Reguera ("Eastbound & Down") has been cast in the drama pilot, about a 19th century doctor who relocates his family from New York City to a frontier town after a mysterious mining tycoon offers to fund his research only to discover Big Thunder is not what is seems. She'll play Selena Morales ("tough as nails and as sexy as it gets"), who runs the local saloon. Chris Morgan and Jason Fuch are behind the ABC Studios-based hour, to be directed by Rob Bowman. Pierce Gagnon also stars. (Deadline.com)
BLINK (The CW) - Johnny Simmons ("The Perks of Being a Wallflower") has landed a role on the drama pilot, about Ari Trask (Madeline Carroll), a 16-year-old girl reeling from a car accident that put her father, Greg, in a coma and his attempts to communicate from the great beyond. He'll play her older brother Dodge, a guy who feels deeply which often gets him in trouble. CBS Television Studios is behind the Vera Harbert-penned hour, which also stars Michael Weston. BOOMERANG (FOX) - Michael Stahl-David and Patrick Heusinger have both landed roles on the drama pilot, about the Hamiltons, a family who serve as assassins for the federal government. They'll play brothers Sam ("given to self reflection; partial to deadpan delivery") and Carl ("ex-jock, trimmed moustache, well-meaning but highly sensitive, a cocktail of machismo and insecurity") in the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, from writer Davey Holmes. Felicity Huffman also stars. (Deadline.com)
COMPANY TOWN (The CW) - Merle Dandridge, Arjun Gupta and Dondre Whitfield have all been cast in the drama pilot, about the aftermath of a sexual assault scandal at a Naval base in Norfolk, Virginia. Dandridge is set as Louise ("smart, tough"), the newly appointed Commanding Officer of Naval Support Activity tasked with sorting through said development. Gupta then will play Jack Weiss ("a certain laid-back charm"), a mechanic with the Navy; with Whitfield as Don ("intuitive, plainspoken"), a combat-trained trauma surgeon. Gage Golightly and Maya Kazan also star in the CBS Television Studios-based hour, from writer Sera Gamble and director Taylor Hackford. (Deadline.com)
CRAZY ONES, THE (CBS) - Amanda Setton ("The Mindy Project") will round out of the cast of the comedy pilot, about the brilliant - but slightly out of his mind - head of an advertising agency (Robin Williams) and his daughter/creative director (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who's tasked with keeping him in check. She's presumably on board as Lauren Slotsky ("easygoing, sexy"), one of the company's art directors. Director Jason Winer and writer David E. Kelley are behind the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which co-stars Hamish Linklater and James Wolk. (Deadline.com)
GANG RELATED (FOX) - Jay Hernandez ("Last Resort") has boarded the drama pilot, about Ryan Lopez (Ramon Rodriguez), a gang member sent in to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department only to be caught between his crime family ties and an increasing sense of loyalty to his new brothers in blue. He'll play Dante Acosta ("a smart, heartthrob asskicker"), Ryan's best friend since childhood and the son of gang lord Javier Acosta. Inbar Lavi and Sung Kang also star in the Chris Morgan-penned hour, which is set up at 20th Century Fox Television. Allen Hughes is directing. (Deadline.com)
HALT & CATCH FIRE (AMC) - Lee Pace and Mackenzie Davis are the first to be cast in the drama pilot, which dramatizes the personal computing boom of the early 1980s through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. They'll play said roles: Joe MacMillan, "once a superstar salesman at IBM, MacMillan recently departed under mysterious circumstances only to resurface at a Dallas tech company"; and Cameron Howe, "a talented but volatile computer programming graduate student whose aggressive exterior has everything to do with protecting a vulnerability underneath," respectively. Chris Cantwell and Chris Rodgers penned the AMC Studios-based hour, which has also added Juan José Campanella as director. (Deadline.com)
HAPPINESS (NBC) - Lindsay Sloane ("Horrible Bosses") is the latest to land a role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Sean (Sean Hayes), a formerly closeted gay man who's now a full-time dad to his 14-year-old daughter (Samantha Isler). She's on board as Sean's co-worker/friend Liz, "a former therapist who quit because she had too many opinions and couldn't listen to people talk about their problems without telling them what to do." Echo Kellum, Linda Lavin and Thomas Lennon also star in the Universal Television-based project, from director James Burrows and writer Victor Fresco. (TVLine.com)
HOW THE HELL AM I NORMAL? (ABC) - Troy Gentile ("Hotel for Dogs") is the latest addition to the 1980s-set comedy pilot, about an in-your-face mother (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and hot-tempered father (Jeff Garlin) who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can't bear to see them grow up. He'll play middle child Barry, a highly-emotional mess of a 16-year-old. Darien Provost and George Segal also star in the Sony Pictures Television-based half-hour, which Seth Gordon will direct from a script by Adam F. Goldberg. (Deadline.com)
JOHN MULANEY SHOW, THE (NBC) - Martin Short is in talks to star in the pilot, a comedy based on the life of comedian John Mulaney. He'd play Lou Cannon, a game show host whom Mulaney writes jokes for that barely tolerates him. The multi-camera project, from Universal Television and Broadway Video Television, was likewise written by Mulaney. (THR.com)
LUCKY 7 (ABC) - Stephen Louis Grush has been cast in the drama pilot, about seven employees of a service station in Queens whose lives are changed in many unexpected ways when they win a lottery jackpot. He'll play one of them, reformed ex-convict Nicky, in the ABC Studios-based hour, which also stars Isiah Whitlock, Jr. David Zabel and Jason Richman penned the script. (Deadline.com)
RECKLESS (ABC) - Patrick Fugit ("Almost Famous") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about David Ritter, a resourceful engineer who will do anything - legal or otherwise - to get back his doctor wife (Eloise Mumford) after she's trapped in East Myanmar during a military coup. He'll play said fellow ("good looking, pleasant, if a bit guarded") in the ABC Studios-based hour, which also stars Ashton Holmes, Ernie Hudson and Lou Taylor Pucci. Martin Campbell is directing from a script by Chris Black. (Deadline.com)
RECKLESS (CBS) - Cam Gigandet and Michael Gladis have landed roles on the drama pilot, about two adversaries, a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney, who struggle to hide their attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal that threatens to implode Charleston, South Carolina. Gigandet is set as the latter, Roy Rayder ("piercing eyes and a manly Blake Shelton look"); while Gladis will play Chief of Police Holland Knox, a family man who radiates integrity. Dana Stevens created the project, from CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
REIGN (The CW) - British actor Toby Regbo has been tapped as the male lead on the pilot, a period drama about the teenage years of Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) in 1557 France. He'll play Francis II ("handsome, thoughtful, dishevelled, late"), heir to the French throne. Director Brad Silberling and writers Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie Sengupta are behind the project, which is set up at CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
RITA (BRAVO) - Colin Salmon and Robbie Kay have both been cast in the drama pilot, about the title character (Anna Gunn), an outspoken private school teacher who struggles to raise her own three teenage children while dealing with the inane bureaucracy and overprotective parents at her school. The latter will play Rita's gay son with Salmon as Colin Paige, "the aristocratic emotionally guarded British teacher who is the head of the history department at the school." Writer Krista Vernoff and director Miguel Arteta are behind the Fox Television Studios-based hour, which also stars Josh Hamilton. (Deadline.com)
SECOND SIGHT (CBS) - Erik Jensen ("Gravity") has been cast in the drama pilot, about Ross Tanner (Jason Lee), a New Orleans detective suffering from Azoors Syndrome, an ocular eye disorder that saddles him with regular hallucinations but also opens up his subconscious in a way that aids his job. He'll play fellow detective Daniel "Manischewitz" Bashevis, an easy going family man, an Orthodox Jew from a long line of Louisiana Orthodox. Kim Dickens also stars in the CBS Television Studios-based hour, from Gerald and Michael Cuesta, the latter of which is directing. (Deadline.com)
SLEEPY HOLLOW (FOX) - Tom Mison ("Salmon Fishing in the Yemen") has booked the lead role on the drama pilot, about Ichabod Crane, a Captain during the Revolutionary War, who is mysteriously transported to present day Sleepy Hollow, where he takes on the supernatural alongside Detective Abbie Archer (Nicole Beharie). He's set as Washington Irving's literary hero ("handsome, but hard - like he's been to hell and back"). Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Phillip Iscove penned the project for 20th Century Fox Television. Katia Winter and Orlando Jones also star. (Deadline.com)
SUPER CLYDE (CBS) - Justine Lupe ("Harry's Law") has snagged a role on the single-camera comedy pilot, about a meek, unassuming fast food worker (Rupert Grint) who decides to become a "superhero" for the downtrodden after inheriting his uncle's fortune. He'll play his older sister Faith in the CBS Television Studios-based half-hour, which also stars Tyler Labine. Michael Fresco is directing from a script by creator Greg Garcia. (Deadline.com)
TO MY ASSISTANT (FOX) - Brittany Snow and Stephen Root have snagged roles on the comedy pilot, about the assistants at a big New York law firm who band together as a family to help each other cope with the obnoxious, overbearing bosses. She'll play one of said assistants, Jen ("pretty, athletic, ambitious, wound a little tight"), who aspires to be an associate lawyer at their firm. Root then is set as Frank, her stern, intense boss. Catherine O'Hara, Joe Egender and Melissa Tang also star in the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour, from co-creators Ellen Kreamer and Sherry Bilsing-Graham. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CRAIG ROBINSON PROJECT (NBC) - Amandla Stenberg has been cast while Steve Pink will direct the comedy pilot, about Craig Rice (Craig Robinson), an impulsive, good-hearted musician who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school. She'll play Irene ("genuine, smart"), a sixth-grader who wants Craig to teach her how to sing. Owen Ellickson is behind the Universal Television-based half-hour, which also stars Amanda Lund and Larenz Tate. (THR.com)
UNTITLED JOHN LEGUIZAMO PROJECT (ABC) - Luke Ganalon has snagged a role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, based on Leguizamo's life as a husband, father and fish out of water on the upper West Side of New York City. He'll presumably play his son Toby in the project, from ABC Studios, Mandeville Films and writer Jeff Astrof. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED RAND RAVICH PROJECT (NBC) - Lance Gross and Halston Sage are the latest to board the drama pilot, about Marcus Finley, an idealistic Secret Service agent who finds himself at the epicenter of an international crisis on his first day. Gross will play said role, an fresh and eager fellow who's wanted to be an agent his whole life. Sage then is set as Amber Fitch, one of several students - including the President's son - at an elite Washington, D.C. high school who is kidnapped on Marcus's first day. Gillian Anderson and Rachael Taylor also star in the Rand Ravich-penned hour, which is set up at 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
