ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK? INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S NEW SERIES "DEAD OF NIGHT" REVEALS THE EVIL THAT LURKS IN THE SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT

(Silver Spring, MD) - There's just something about darkness that awakens our primal fears. As children, nightlights keep the boogeyman at bay, but by adulthood we learn that hiding under the covers is no defense against true evil. Investigation Discovery's new series DEAD OF NIGHT shines light on nighttime crimes in which darkness hides predators hungry for a midnight attack. Providing vivid insight into a night on the town that turned fatal in an instant, each episode of DEAD OF NIGHT recounts the dark, deadly deed and the daytime investigation that followed. Told through interviews with loved ones and law enforcement, DEAD OF NIGHT premieres Tuesday, March 12 at 10 PM E/P on Investigation Discovery.

"We've all wondered what may lurk in the shadows, whether it was on a deserted city street corner, along a lonely stretch of highway, or while investigating a strange bump in the night," said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. "DEAD OF NIGHT proves that, sometimes, it's not only your wishes that come true - it's your nightmares, too."

The first three episodes include:

Empire State of Murder premieres Tuesday, March 12 at 10 PM E/P

Laura Garza, a 25-year-old aspiring dancer, has just moved to New York City from a small town in Texas to pursue her dreams. Laura loves the Big Apple and its intoxicating night life, but one night, after clubbing at one of city's hottest venues, Laura disappears. Her family is shocked when police find that Laura left the club with not one, but two strange men. Police follow her trail 60 miles north into the hands of a registered sex offender, but Laura is nowhere to be found. Without solid evidence against the prime suspect, he could walk right back into the dead of night. Locations: New York City and Orange County, NY

Blood Brothers premieres Tuesday, March 19 at 10 PM E/P

Things get suspicious when gorgeous Corey Parker misses a Thanksgiving party and her shift at the bar where she works in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. When she is found brutally stabbed more than 100 times, there is no obvious motive and no one can imagine who would want to harm the affable 25-year-old student. As leads dry up, the best hope for justice lies in spit, blood, and the tip of a mysterious hair. Location: Jacksonville Beach, FL

Bourbon Street Bloodbath premieres Tuesday, March 26 at 10 PM E/P

34-year-old Shawn Johnson has always wanted to visit New Orleans. At the end of a week-long business trip, he goes out to celebrate on lively Bourbon Street. At an after-hours bar called The Dungeon, he meets a group of local kids. Friendly and outgoing, Shawn buys a few bottles of champagne and invites the group back to his hotel room to continue their party. But he could never imagine that he had just crossed paths with a killer and that, tragically, his life would end before sunrise. Location: New Orleans

DEAD OF NIGHT is produced for Investigation Discovery by NBC News' Peacock Productions with Elizabeth Fischer as executive producer. For Investigation Discovery, Thomas Cutler is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager.
