LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Syfy has pulled its U.K. import "Merlin" from its Friday lineup, effective immediately.
Encores of newcomer "Robot Combat League" will instead fill the Friday, 10:00/9:00c hour through April 26. Said development will also postpone the launch of "Sinbad," which was originally slated to bow on April 12 at 10:00/9:00c.
It's understood "Merlin" will resume its run on May 3 with its series finale now scheduled for May 31. "Sinbad" will then presumably roll out in the summer.
"Robot Combat League's" debut on Tuesday, February 26 (1.351 million viewers, 0.6 adults 18-49 rating) marked the network's best unscripted series premiere in over two years among viewers 18-49. And with its rebroadcast this past Friday (1.317 million viewers, 0.4 adults 18-49 rating) after "WWE Smackdown" nearly duplicating its overall audience, Syfy not surprisingly hopes to capitalize on its success with the extra airings.
