ELECTRONIC MUSIC PHENOM ZEDD COMPLETES THE LINE-UP OF "2013 mtvU WOODIE AWARDS" PERFORMERS ON MARCH 14 IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

Pusha T and Atlas Genius Join the Roster of Incredible Performances Set for the "mtvU Woodie Awards Festival"

"2013 Woodie Awards Special" Hosted by Tegan and Sara, Machine Gun Kelly to Air on MTV and mtvU on Sunday, March 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

New York, NY - (March 11, 2013) - MTV's 24-hour college network, mtvU, announced today that 2013 mtvU "Breaking Woodie" nominee Zedd will perform in the "2013 mtvU Woodie Awards," joining previously announced artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and twenty one pilots in Austin, Texas on March 14 during the SXSW Music Festival. Additionally, "Tag Team Woodie" nominee Pusha T and Atlas Genius will join the already announced "Woodie Awards Festival" performers including "Breaking Woodie" nominee Alt-J, Trinidad Jame$, HAIM, Jake Bugg, Travi$ Scott, Timeflies, and Joey Bada$$. MTV and mtvU will air a half-hour "2013 Woodie Awards Special" on Sunday, March 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT hosted by twin sister indie pop sensations and "Tag Team Woodie" nominees Tegan and Sara and Cleveland Rapper and "Woodie of the Year" nominee Machine Gun Kelly.

"2013 mtvU Woodie Awards" - starting at 7:20 p.m. CT on March 14 in Austin, Texas

German EDM producer/DJ/songwriter Zedd will close the 2013 "mtvU Woodie Awards" with his hit "Clarity," the title track off his chart topping debut album which reached #1 on the iTunes Dance Chart and was the biggest first week for a dance artist's album in the last 10 years. As one of MTV's 2013 Artists to Watch and a 2013 "Breaking Woodie" nominee, Zedd has separated himself in a crowded field by drawing from a diverse musical training and background spanning from classical to post-hardcore/metal to electro house in order to make meticulously detailed and carefully produced compositions.

Zedd first made waves with a series of well-received remixes of tracks by Skrillex, The Black Eyed Peas, Fatboy Slim, and Lady Gaga. In 2011, Zedd remixed Lady Gaga's tracks "Born This Way" and "Marry the Night" and appeared on her special edition second album, "Born This Way." In 2012, Zedd signed with Interscope Records and produced the track "Beauty and a Beat" with Max Martin for Justin Bieber's third album. He recently appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman where he turned his signature style upside down performing a stripped down version of "Clarity" showcasing his classical training by playing piano alongside a string quartet and vox from Foxes. The performance is a prime example of Zedd's true musicianship beyond the realm of EDM. Zedd will join previously announced "Woodie Awards" performers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and twenty one pilots.

"I am thrilled to be performing at the 2013 Woodies! As a nominee I'm both thankful and excited for the opportunity and can't wait to unveil my set for the fans," said Zedd.

"2013 mtvU Woodies Festival" - doors open at 1:30 p.m. CT on March 14 in Austin, Texas

2013 "Tag Team Woodie" nominee Pusha T and Atlas Genius are the latest artists added to the "2013 mtvU Woodie Awards Festival" roster, which promises a full day of incredible live music across two stages. Previously announced Festival performers include Alt-J, HAIM, Jake Bugg, and Timeflies. Pusha T will take the MTV Jams Stage, which will host a number of emerging hip-hop acts including previously announced artists Trinidad Jame$, Joey Bada$$ and Travi$ Scott.

One half of the critically acclaimed duo Clipse, Pusha T is a 2013 Grammy nominated artist for the song "Mercy," recorded with Kanye West, Big Sean and 2 Chainz. He is also up for a 2013 mtvU "Tag Team Woodie" for the same collaboration. Known for his hip hop style, Pusha T is signed with G.O.O.D Music recording label and was recently featured on "Kanye West's Presents: G.O.O.D. Music Cruel Summer" album. Australian band Atlas Genius combines sophisticated musicality and warmth with a wistful spirit that is infused with a classic sensibility. They became a worldwide sensation with their first single "Trojans," which set the blogosphere on fire and has since become a top 5 Modern Rock and Top 10 Triple A Hit. Their debut album, "When It Was Now," was recently released on Warner Brothers Records. Nylon Magazine, Neon Gold, and Entertainment Weekly have all declared Atlas Genius as a "Band to Watch for 2013." They are currently in the midst of a sold out nationwide Tour with Imagine Dragons.

The ninth annual "mtvU Woodie Awards" promise to be an unforgettable night of music and performances.
