OSCAR(R) NOMINEE JAMES WOODS JOINS ALL-STAR CAST OF "RAY DONOVAN" ON SHOWTIME(R)

LOS ANGELES, CA - (March 19, 2013) - Two-time Oscar(R) nominee, and Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) winner James Woods will star in the highly-anticipated new SHOWTIME drama series RAY DONOVAN in the recurring role of Patrick "Sully" Sullivan. Living in his hometown of South Boston, Sully has a very complicated history with the Donovan family. The series marks a return to television for Woods, who last starred as the title character in the CBS drama series Shark. Woods will begin filming RAY DONOVAN next week in Los Angeles.

With over 70 major motion pictures, TV films and miniseries to his credit, Woods has distinguished himself as an acclaimed actor, producer and director. His performances have earned him two Academy Award nominations - Best Actor for Salvador and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Ghosts Of Mississippi - as well as four Emmy nominations and two Emmy wins for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries for his work in Promise and My Name Is Bill W. Woods has also been nominated ten times for a Golden Globe, winning the award for Promise. Some of his other memorable roles include those in Once Upon A Time In America, Against All Odds, Casino, True Believer, The Virgin Suicides, Pretty Persuasion, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Straw Dogs. Upcoming projects include jOBS and Roland Emmerich's White House Down. Among his additional television credits are the movies Rudy: The Rudy Giuliani Story, Citizen Cohn and Indictment: The McMartin Trial, all of which earned him Emmy Award nominations, and guest-starring roles in ER and Entourage. Woods also starred in the critically-acclaimed and award-winning SHOWTIME movie Dirty Pictures, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV.

Set in the sprawling mecca of the rich and famous, RAY DONOVAN does the dirty work for LA's top power players. The one-hour drama series stars Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Liev Schreiber as the go-to guy who makes the problems of the city's celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear. This powerful drama unfolds when his father, played by Oscar winner Jon Voight, is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that shakes the Donovan family to its core. The series' all-star cast also includes Oscar winner and guest star Elliott Gould as Ray's long-time client and mentor, Paula Malcomson (The Hunger Games) in the role of Ray's wife, Abby, along with Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes) and Dash Mihok (I Am Legend), who will play Ray's brothers. The cast also includes Katherine Moennig (The L Word), Pooch Hall (The Game), Steven Bauer (Breaking Bad), Kerris Dorsey (Moneyball) and Devon Bagby. Johnathon Schaech (That Thing You Do!) and Peter Jacobson (House) guest star. RAY DONOVAN is created and executive produced by Ann Biderman (Southland). The series will also be executive produced by Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff. RAY DONOVAN is a SHOWTIME production and the pilot was directed by Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy), who also serves as producer.
