ALL-NEW EPISODES OF "OPRAH'S MASTER CLASS" BEGIN SUNDAY, JUNE 2 ON OWN: OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK

June Episodes Feature Lenny Kravitz, Susan Sarandon, Berry Gordy Jr. and Diahann Carroll

Chicago, IL - The acclaimed series "Oprah's Master Class" featuring an unprecedented first-person insight into the brilliant minds of entertainers we love, respect and admire, returns with all-new episodes Sunday, June 2 (from 10-11 p.m. ET/PT) on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

In each episode, a new modern day master will share their inspiring stories including Lenny Kravitz (June 2), Susan Sarandon (June 9), Berry Gordy Jr. (June 16) and Diahann Carroll (June 23).

Episode descriptions are below:

June 2 (10-11p.m. ET/PT) - LENNY KRAVITZ

The multi-Grammy Award-winning artist, producer and actor Lenny Kravitz talks about how his mixed cultural background influenced his signature retro music style and how he challenged the industry with his unconventional image. Raised in a biracial family (his mother is Roxy Roker known for her character Helen Willis on the hit 70's sitcom "The Jeffersons" and father is Sy Kravitz NBC news producer of Russian-Jewish descent), Kravitz opens up about his upbringing and how his father's infidelity affected him as a young boy. Plus, he reveals more about his marriage to actress Lisa Bonet ("The Cosby Show") and his relationship with daughter, Zoë.

June 9 (10-11p.m. ET/PT) - SUSAN SARANDON

Academy Award-winning actress and humanitarian Susan Sarandon talks about her first big break when she auditioned for an independent film on a whim, and then found herself in Hollywood scoring leading lady roles in big feature films, such as Annie in "Bull Durham", Louise in "Thelma and Louise" and Sister Helen in "Dead Man Walking." A New Jersey native and the eldest of nine siblings, Sarandon grew up in a strict Catholic school which shaped her world view, leading to her future social and political activism. She talks candidly about becoming pregnant after doctors told her she wouldn't be able to have kids, aging in a business that is tough on women passed a "certain age," and why she believes relationships need to evolve, even if it means parting ways. Now a mother of three, Sarandon remains one of Hollywood's most talented and versatile leading ladies, yet she credits her success to the fact that all her plans failed.

June 16 Father's Day (10-11p.m. ET/PT) - BERRY GORDY JR.

If you know the music of Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Jackson 5, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Smokey Robinson, Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder... just to name a few, then you know Berry Gordy, Jr. He is the man behind all those hits, as founder of the legendary Motown record label and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who shaped the careers of many young superstar singers. Gordy Jr. talks about his love affair with Diana Ross, their behind-the-scenes stories, spinning out #1 hits, and how life growing up in Detroit wasn't always glamorous in the beginning.

June 23 (10-11p.m. ET/PT) - DIAHANN CARROLL

Living legend Diahann Carroll is a groundbreaking actress with many "firsts" to her name including being the first African-American to win a Tony Award and originating many leading lady roles, such as the title role in her 1968 sitcom "Julia," as the first African-American actress to star in her own sitcom. Carroll talks about growing up in New York, the prejudice she endured, creating the role of Dominique Deveraux in the television soap opera "Dynasty," and being a breast cancer survivor.
