SUNDANCE CHANNEL TO SHOWCASE THEIR PRIMETIME EMMY(R) NOMINATED MINISERIES WITH MARATHON AIRINGS OF "TOP OF THE LAKE" (JULY 28) AND "RESTLESS" (JULY 31)

NEW YORK, July 22, 2013 - On the heels of receiving a record 10 Prime Time Emmy(R) nominations for its miniseries "Top of the Lake" and "Restless", Sundance Channel is offering viewers an opportunity to enjoy back-to-back episodes of both critically-acclaimed series. The seven-part, "Top of the Lake" marathon will air on July 28th from 1pm -8pm ET/PT, and the two-part "Restless" marathon will begin with the first two-hour installment airing July 31st at 8pm ET/PT, followed immediately by part two beginning at 10:00pm ET/PT.

The powerful and haunting, "Top of the Lake," which originally premiered in March of this year, received eight nominations, including a category nomination for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie and acting noms for Elisabeth Moss and Peter Mullan. Following the series' premiere LA Weekly raved: "It could very well be the best work of their careers."

The classic mythic struggle written and directed by Oscar(R) winner Jane Campion (The Piano, Portrait of a Lady) centers on the disappearance of a 12-year-old named Tui who is five months pregnant. Elisabeth Moss stars as Robin Griffin, the investigative detective who must lose herself in order to find the missing girl. During the investigation, she collides with Matt Mitcham (Peter Mullan), Tui's father, a local drug lord, and G.J. (Hunter), a guru at a local women's camp. As the case unfolds, in a paradise where honest work is hard to find, Robin finds that her limits are tested, sending her on a journey of self-discovery.

"Restless," Sundance Channel's riveting miniseries which premiered in December of 2012, garnered nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie for Charlotte Rampling and Outstanding Music Composition For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special. Touted by the Associated Press as "a deliciously suspenseful spy thriller " the miniseries was described by The Hollywood Reporter as "superb...with an excellent cast and a stirring story... with enough intrigue, deceit, twists and lingering suspicions to lure you into its web."

Based on the novel penned by celebrated award-winning contemporary British novelist William Boyd, "Restless" depicts the thrilling story of a daughter who discovers that her mother was recruited as a spy during World War II. An enthralling story of wartime espionage, love and betrayal, "Restless" lifts the lid on one of the last secrets of World War II.
