KELLY REILLY TO STAR IN NEW ABC DRAMA SERIES "THE BLACK BOX"
ABC has cast Kelly Reilly ("Flight," "Sherlock Holmes") as Dr. Elizabeth Black in the limited series "The Black Box," a 13-episode drama scheduled to air in 2014 on the ABC Television Network. Reilly plays a world-famous neuroscientist who unwraps the mysteries of the brain as she juggles complex issues of her own.
Elizabeth Black, world renowned neuroscientist, appears to have it all. In an impossible journey to find balance in her life, she is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness. On the outside, Elizabeth has a special touch for the patients she treats at The Center for Neurological Research and Treatment, otherwise known as "The Cube." However Elizabeth's mental illness is not the only secret she's kept locked away from her family and her new fiancé.
"The Black Box" was written by Amy Holden Jones ("Mystic Pizza," "Indecent Proposal"). Simon Curtis ("My Week with Marilyn") will direct. The series will be produced by Bold Films and sold internationally by Sierra Engine. Anne Thomopoulos, Bryan Singer, Ilene Chaiken and Oly Obst are executive producers.
