JAKE GOES ON HIS MOST HEROIC MISSION EVER IN DISNEY JUNIOR'S "JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES: NEVER LAND RESCUE" PRIMETIME SPECIAL PREMIERING SUNDAY, SEPTEMER 29

Beloved Disney Character Tinker Bell Makes Special Appearance

New Mama Hook Animated Short Starring Sharon Osbourne To Debut

When Never Land begins to disappear, Jake must go on his most heroic mission ever to save the magical land in Disney Junior's "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue," a primetime special premiering SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 on Disney Channel (6:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Disney Junior (7:00 p.m., ET/PT). One of Disney's most famous and beloved characters, Tinker Bell, makes her first-ever debut appearance in the action-packed family night special presentation.

Following the premiere telecast of "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue," Disney Junior will debut the new animated short "Mama Hook Knows Best" (airing at 6:55 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel and 7:55 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Junior). Starring the voice of Sharon Osbourne as Captain Hook's exuberant mother, the short follows Mama Hook as she offers words of advice to her son on being a good pirate. A breakout character since her debut episode in May 2012, Mama Hook has won the hearts of young viewers and their parents and also inspired the children's book "Mama Hook Knows Best: A Pirate Parent's Favorite Fables" which will be released as a hardcover book and e-book by Disney Publishing on Tuesday, September 17.

In "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue," the magic of Never Land begins to disappear just as the ancient Forever Tree seems to be fading away. After a mysterious figure known as "The Guardian" arrives to explain that only the pirate who truly believes in himself can save Never Land from vanishing completely, Jake must break off from the rest of his crew and go alone on a mission to save the Forever Tree, the source of magic throughout all of Never Land. Guiding Jake on his quest is Tinker Bell, who makes her first-ever appearance in the series.

Disney Junior has teamed with the National Wildlife Federation in an initiative that coincides with the storyline in which Jake saves the fading Forever Tree. Beginning Friday, September 20, kids and their parents can log on to DisneyJunior.com/GiveATree to designate one of four geographical locations for the National Wildlife Federation to plant a tree.

Leading up to the premiere of the primetime special, DisneyJunior.com/NeverlandRescue will launch "Jake's Never Land Rescue," a collection of four mini-game missions that will encourage kids to help Jake on his quest to save Never Land. One new mini-game will roll out weekly beginning Friday, August 30. A full-length preview of "Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue" will become available on SVOD beginning Sunday, September 22 and the special will be simulcast on WATCH Disney Channel and WATCH Disney Junior in conjunction with the television premiere on Sunday, September 29. The special will become available the following day on WATCH Disney Junior and Disney Junior on Demand and will be available for download on iTunes, Xbox and Amazon.

Third quarter 2013 to date, "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" is cable TV's #1 preschool series in Boys 2-5.* The series revolves around a crew of kid pirates - leader Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby - and follows their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit two infamous characters, the one and only Captain Hook and Mister Smee, from Disney's classic "Peter Pan. Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series airs daily on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
