MTV TO DEBUT TWO NEW DOCU-SERIES "BIG TIPS TEXAS" AND "SCRUBBING IN" THIS OCTOBER

"Big Tips Texas" and "Scrubbing In" Premiere Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT Respectively, on MTV

SANTA MONICA, CA (September 4, 2013) - MTV announced today the premiere dates for two new docu-series that focus on the lives of two diverse and dynamic groups of young people working hard to pursue their dreams. Debuting Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes is "Big Tips Texas," which follows a handful of girlfriends working together at a local bar just outside of Dallas, TX. On Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, "Scrubbing In" (formerly known as "Nurses") premieres, which chronicles the behind-the-scenes trauma and drama of a group of nine traveling nurses who've been relocated to work at a hospital in Orange County, CA.

"Big Tips Texas" documents the lives of a group of fun-loving girlfriends serving up southern hospitality at a popular Texas watering hole while hoping to make their dreams a reality. The eclectic group of women includes four veterans and six new girls. Sabrina, a gifted student working to save money to go back to college and eventually Harvard Law School; Amber the girl who knows her way around the bar but comes at odds with the other staff; Typhani, the boss; and Claire, the bar's top bartender, are amongst those who have earned their stripes. The newbies include Kristyn, an ambitious waitress who has dreams of climbing the establishment's corporate ladder and starting her own clothing line; Morgan, a rodeo princess; Mimi, one of the new girls who ruffles a few feathers; Jillian, the Chicago transplant; Macy, the biggest little Texan of them all; and Mercedez, known as the sassy southern server.

United by the bonds of sisterhood, these women's lives are loaded with tons of comedy, drama and heart. They fight, make up and love like sisters all while working their way towards adulthood one crazy shift at a time. Whether they're spending their free time on Lake Lewisville, planning their futures or getting dirty on the ranch, they're living it up and letting loose every day. Throughout every episode of "Big Tips Texas," viewers will watch the cast's friendships evolve while they work and party their way through the drama and adventure of figuring out who they are and where they're going. "Big Tips Texas" premieres Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and includes 14 half-hour episodes. Giddy up!

"Scrubbing In," follows a group of travel nurses assigned to work at an Orange County, CA hospital for 12 weeks. Relocating from across the country, these nurses have left their hometowns and lives behind for short-term contracts at an understaffed hospital, with the added benefit of exploring a new city. For Tyrice, Chris, Fernando and Adrian, this isn't their first tour and they're considered experts of the program. For first-timers Chelsey, Michelle, Crystal, Nikki and Heather, this is a new journey they're embarking on together, looking for a change from their nursing jobs in Pittsburgh, PA.

Together the group faces unique responsibilities and challenges in their intense career in nursing. Outside of their comfort zone these nurses will have to make new friends, maintain existing friendships, dive into a new dating pool and continuously prove themselves to the staff nurses at their new hospital. But it's not all work and no play - this group loves to blow off some steam during their downtime. It's a lot for these twenty-something's to take on but this energetic, fearless and outgoing group of young nurses are determined to have it all, including a rewarding career and personal life. "Scrubbing In" premieres Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
