Eye-Popping Masterpieces Abound in Third Season of "Halloween Wars"
Guest judges this season - premiering Sunday, October 6 - include Charlaine Harris, Danielle Harris, Tony Todd and Derek Mears.

Season Three Premieres Sunday, October 6th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network

NEW YORK - September 5, 2013 - Halloween Wars is back for a third hair-raising season on Sunday, October 6th at 9pm ET/PT. Over the course of four deliciously frightening episodes, five teams consisting of a pumpkin carving expert, a cake artist, and candy craftsman battle it out to create heart-stopping Halloween themed displays out of pumpkin, cake, and sugar. Each week, one team is eliminated by the judging panel, made up of renowned cake decorator Shinmin Li and Emmy(R)-nominated make-up artist Brian Kinney. The last team standing wins the $50,000 grand prize. Hosted by Justin Willman(Cupcake Wars), each episode also features a rotating celebrity guest judge, including author Charlaine Harris, (Sookie Stackhouse novels), actor Danielle Harris (Halloween), actor Tony Todd (Candyman) and actor Derek Mears (Friday the 13th).

Episodes include:

Premiering Sunday, October 6th at 9pm ET/PT - SEASON PREMIERE "Zombie Prom" In the first of four battles, five teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator, and sugar artist compete to create displays that depict a scene from a Zombie Prom. At the end of the battle, one team will be eliminated. Special Guest Judge: Danielle Harris

Premiering Sunday, October 13th at 9pm ET/PT "Twisted Nursery Rhymes" Four remaining teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator, and sugar artist must create a twisted version of a fairy tale. At the end of the battle, one team will be eliminated. Special Guest Judge: Tony Todd

Premiering Sunday, October 20th at 9pm ET/PT "Swamp Creatures Attack" Three remaining teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator, and sugar artist go to battle to create displays that capture what happens when swamp creatures attack. At the end one team will be eliminated, and two will move on to the final battle. Special Guest Judge: Charlaine Harris

Premiering Sunday, October 27th at 9pm ET/PT "Nightmares" Two teams made up of an expert pumpkin carver, cake decorator, and sugar artist go to battle to create mind-blowing Halloween themed displays that capture the terror of nightmares. In the end, one team will become the Halloween Wars champion and win a $50,000 grand prize. Special Guest Judge: Derek Mears


Justin Willman has quickly become one of the busiest TV-personalities and live entertainers in America. He presently hosts the hit show Cupcake Wars on Food Network, and is also well known as the witty correspondent on the Rachael Ray talk show with more than 20 appearances. Justin currently tours nationally with his Tricked Out Tour, a popular one-man comedy and magic live show.Willman has astounded audiences with his magic on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, made a guest appearance on G4's Attack of the Show, appeared in the Showtime documentary Make Believe, guest-starred on the hit CBS show The Defenders, and made a cameo on the long-running Disney sitcom The Suite Life on Deck. He also performed at the White House as a guest of the first family.


Shinmin Li is a renowned cake decorator, who has studied graphic design at The School of Visual Arts in New York City before attending Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney; earning her degree in Grande Patisserie in 2002.


Brian Kinney is a primetime Emmy(R)-nominated makeup artist and a Journeyman in IATSE Local 706 Make-up Artists and Hairstylists Guild, where he serves as Makeup Craft Coordinator and on the executive board. Brian has worked in film, television, theater, and print for more than 12 years. Brian has made his mark in FX labs, on set, and in classrooms across the United States and Europe. His work can be seen regularly in feature films and television shows, such as CSI, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scenic Route and The Last Halloween.
