October 26th Special Features the First-Ever Nationwide Costume Competition, Including Martha Stewart as the Halloween-Expert Judge

LOS ANGELES - The Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families, continues to build up its star-studded "Hub Network's First Annual Halloween Bash" by announcing that actor and comedian Kenan Thompson will serve as host. The one-of-a-kind special celebrating the best of Halloween with a nationwide 50-state costume competition judged by a panel of celebrity presenters, including Halloween-expert Martha Stewart, will be broadcast Saturday, October 26, 8-10 p.m. ET/5-7 p.m. PT.

Anyone with a little imagination and creativity may submit to enter the nationwide costume competition, which is open from now until Sunday, September 29. Fifty semi-finalists representing each state in America will win a trip to Los Angeles to be a part of the two-hour star-studded event. One lucky winner will take home $25,000 and will have a chance at a walk-on role on the Hub Network's Daytime Emmy(R) Award-winning series, "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series." Viewers can visit hubworld.com/halloween to view a two-minute tutorial with complete details and entry information about the nationwide costume competition.

Thompson's incredible versatility and imagination make him the perfect host for the "Hub Network's First Annual Halloween Bash." Thompson is entering his eleventh season on "Saturday Night Live," where he has made numerous contributions to the show with his catalog of hilarious impressions that include Bill Cosby, Rev. Al Sharpton, Charles Barkley, CeeLo Green, Grady Wilson, and Whoopi Goldberg, and by playing memorable characters, such as "DJ Dynasty Handbag," the scathingly fierce co-host of "Deep House Dish" and Weekend Update correspondent "Jean K. Jean." His career also includes lending his voice talent as "Greedy Smurf" in the animated films "The Smurfs" and "The Smurfs 2." Thompson will star in Rob Reiner's upcoming film, "Summer at Dog Dave's" with Morgan Freeman, and he co-stars alongside Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler and Ed Helms in the upcoming Lionsgate feature film, "They Came Together."

The two-hour "Halloween Bash" will also include chart-topping musical performances, celebrity presenters and lots of entertaining tricks and treats for kids and their families. The live-to-tape special will take place at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, Calif. Bob Bain serves as executive producer and Paul Flattery is producer for Bob Bain Productions.

Sponsors of "Hub Network's First Annual Halloween Bash" include Activision's Skylanders SWAP Force, Hasbro's Furby Boom! and Party City.
