THE AFTER PARTY (ABC, New!) - Scott King ("The Neighbors") has sold a potential comedy to the Alphabet about "three recently single siblings who have two things in common: 1) insanely happily married parents and 2) failed marriages." ABC Studios is behind the presumably single-camera project with Mark Gordon of The Mark Gordon Co. executive producing alongside King. (Deadline.com)

AMERICAN PSYCHO (FX, New!) - Stefan Jaworski (A&E's "Those Who Kill") is spearheading a small screen take on Bret Easton Ellis's novel-turned-feature, about wealthy investment banker Patrick Bateman (played by Christian Bale) who leads a secret life as a serial killer in the late-1980s. Jaworski's take will be set in the present day with a now 50-something Bateman, "as outrageous and lethal as ever, taking on a protégé in a sadistic social experiment who will become every bit his equal - a next-generation American Psycho." Lionsgate Television and FX Productions are producing with Allison Shearmur and Ed Pressman also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)

CLOTHING OPTIONAL (FOX, New!) - Scott King ("The Neighbors") has likewise booked a new comedy at the network about "a family who own and operate a wholesome all-inclusive resort but suddenly must put their morality and better judgment on hold when a scandal rocks their hotel and they decide to just go with it and turn the place into a Clothing Optional resort to keep the business afloat." ABC Studios is also behind the presumably single-camera half-hour with Mark Gordon of The Mark Gordon Co. executive producing alongside King. (Deadline.com)

CYCLOPS (FOX, New!) - Writer Matz and artist Luc Jacamon's French graphic novel - set 50 years in the future when soldiers are outfitted with cameras that broadcast their actions around the world - is being developed as a drama series at the network. Todd Komarnicki (Perfect Stranger) is penning the hour and will executive produce alongside Alexandra Milchan as well as New Regency's Arnon Milchan, Brad Weston and Andrew Plotkin for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)

MAN ON FIRE (FOX, New!) - A.J. Quinnell's novel-turned-feature - about John Creasy (played by Denzel Washington), "a despondent former CIA operative/Force Recon Marine officer turned bodyguard, who goes on a revenge rampage after his charge, nine-year-old Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning), is abducted in Mexico" - is being eyed as a potential drama series at the network. The TV series will then pick up 18 years later as Creasy reconnects with Pita. 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour, to be penned David DiGilio. New Regency's Arnon Milchan, Brad Weston and Andrew Plotkin will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

OPEN (HBO/Fox 21; W: Lauren Gussis & Ryan Murphy; D: TBA) - Michelle Monaghan ("True Detective") has boarded the drama pilot, "a modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships." She'll play Grace, "a successful and recently engaged gynecologist." Scott Speedman, Wes Bentley, Anna Torv and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star in the project. (Deadline.com)

SHOW & TELL (ABC, New!) - Dan Bucatinsky's book "Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?" is being developed as a drama at the Alphabet. Said hour is billed as "a fast-paced dramedy about the lives, loves, and scandalous secrets of a group of parents whose kids attend the same school." Bucatinsky will pen the script and executive produce alongside Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers of the ABC Studios-based Shondaland. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED KERRY EHRIN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Kerry Ehrin ("Bates Motel") has booked a potential drama at the Peacock about "two unlikely female partners in the Boston PD - one a fortysomething single mom with a ton of baggage, the other an ambitious Latina twentysomething wannabe-hotshot with a lot to learn." Universal Television is behind the hour with Jason Katims and Michelle Lee of the studio-based True Jack Productions likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED RON SHELTON PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - Ron Shelton (White Men Can't Jump) is developing a new drama at the pay channel "set behind the scenes of a pro basketball team and the family that runs it." (Deadline.com)

THE WORST BEST THING (FOX, New!) - Newcomer Barry Schwartz has set up a single-camera comedy at the network billed as "an edgy, docu-style comedy about three couples - two with new babies and one who's expecting - who have known each other since grade school and are very angry at all the people who lied to them about how wonderful and beautiful having babies is." Greg Malins ("Ground Floor") and Seth Gordon ("The Goldbergs") are also on board to executive produce the half-hour, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
