COOKING CHANNEL'S CHING-HE HUANG TAKES HER CULINARY EXPERTISE OUTSIDE THE KITCHEN TO SAVE FAILING RESTAURANTS IN NEW SERIES "RESTAURANT REDEMPTION"

Season premiere Tuesday, October 29that 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT

NEW YORK, NY - September 25, 2013 - Ching-He Huang changes the face of Asian cuisine in America one menu at a time in the new series Restaurant Redemption premiering Tuesday, October 29th at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Cooking Channel. Ching travels the country to help owners of struggling Asian restaurants revitalize their menus by giving them new inspiration and direction to turn their businesses around. From updating tired, dated menus to renovating an establishment's décor, Ching uses her Asian heritage and culinary expertise to save restaurant owners from financial collapse.

Throughout the series, Ching meets restaurant owners from across the country in desperate need of her help. In Michigan, two bickering brothers are on a downward spiral and about to lose their family business because they can't agree on any business decisions. Emotions run high as Ching takes the reigns and brings their stale restaurant up to date with a major menu and décor overhaul with hopes of bringing their family and business back together. In another episode, Ching comes to the aid of a husband and wife in Queens, New York. The duo needs to pull their failing Chinese-Tiki inspired restaurant out of financial trouble. Ching helps them rediscover their culinary passions and regain control of their restaurant.

Daytime Emmy(R) nominated television host and cookbook author, Ching-He Huang has been with Cooking Channel since the network's launch, hosting the series Chinese Food Made Easy, which originally aired in the UK on BBC2 as well as Easy Chinese. Born in Taiwan, Ching's major food influences stem from the traditional cooking styles of her farming-community grandparents, who lived in the countryside of southern Taiwan. Her family emigrated to South Africa and eventually settled in the UK. Ching remains true to her Chinese culture and heritage through cooking. She applies her family's culinary traditions to her work today by emphasizing the Chinese philosophy of "yin and yang", achieving a healthful balanced diet through the use of hot and cold ingredients. A passionate food lover and self-taught cook, Ching eventually launched her own food company and became a television regular and the author of bestselling cookbooks Chinese Food Made Easy, China Modern, Ching's Everyday Easy Chinese and Exploring China.

Restaurant Redemption is produced by Lion Television.
