GRAMMY-WINNING MUSICAL SUPERSTARS KELLY CLARKSON AND MICHAEL BUBLE TO STAR IN UPCOMING NBC CHRISTMAS SPECIALS

Clarkson Sets Music to Classic Charles Dickens Story Dec. 11; Buble Serenades Yuletide Audiences Dec. 18

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Oct. 18, 2013 - NBC has cast Grammy Awards winners Kelly Clarkson (Wednesday, Dec. 11, 10 p.m.) and Michael Buble (Wednesday, Dec. 18, 10 p.m.) to star in a pair of upcoming hourlong holiday specials.

The Kelly Clarkson special will be based loosely on Charles Dickens' classic novel "A Christmas Carol." During the course of the yet untitled special, Clarkson's character will learn about the true meaning of Christmas.

For his annual holiday special, Buble will deliver some of his most popular songs in an intimate setting and invite some of his favorite guest performers as well.

"These two immensely talented Grammy Award-winning artists will be the perfect addition to the holiday season," said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. "We are looking forward to bringing their signature sounds into America's homes."

Clarkson, who rose to fame in 2002 as champion of the first season of "American Idol," has sold more than 20 million albums over the course of her career. She has 11 No. 1 singles worldwide on the Billboard charts and will release her sixth studio album, "Wrapped in Red" (RCA Records) on Oct. 25.

The Canadian-born Buble has had a handful of best-selling albums, including "It's Time," "Call Me Irresponsible" and his most recent, "To Be Loved."

The Clarkson special, to be filmed in Las Vegas, will be produced by Done and Dusted Productions with Ian Stewart serving as executive producer.

Brad Lachman will produce the Buble special.
