NEW YORK - November 4, 2013 - Syfy, Advertising Age & The ADVERTISING Club of New York will transport the advertising community into the imaginative new worlds of storytelling - which are permanently transforming how consumers interact with content - through the Transmedia Storytelling: Masters & Dreamers conference, which will be held at the New World Stages in New York on Tuesday, November 5 from 9:30AM-2PM.

From keynote speaker Anthony Bourdain to a conversation with renowned futurist Dr. James Canton, CEO of the Institute for Global Futures, attendees will hear directly from the masters and dreamers who are reshaping the way viewers experience and participate in entertainment.

The panels will feature industry leaders Randy Browning (CEO,Blab); Ingrid Kopp (Director, Digital Initiatives, Tribeca Film Institute); Lance Weiler (Writer, Director, Experience Designer); Michael Engleman (EVP, Digital & Global Brand Strategy, Syfy); Christos Apartoglou (Senior Product Marketing Manager, Google Chrome); Jonathan Perelman (Vice President of Agency Strategy & Industry Development, BuzzFeed); Gurj Bassi (Digital Marketing Director, Republic Records); Jon Giegengack (Principal and Co-Founder, Hub Entertainment Research); and Renan Borelli (Senior Account Manager, MXM Social).

The panelists will examine some of the industry's most innovative, hotly discussed case studies of transmedia storytelling - including Syfy's Defiance and Sharknado - by deep diving into the genesis and success of the projects, as well as presenting new understandings about consumer behavior.

Anthony Bourdain is a 28-year veteran of professional kitchens, having worked as a dishwasher, line cook and chef. In 2000, he published Kitchen Confidential, a bestselling memoir of his experiences in the culinary world, which launched him into the world of culinary writing and television. He currently hosts the Emmy Award-winning travel docu-series Parts Unknown on CNN and co-hosts The Taste, a cooking competition series with Nigella Lawson for ABC.

Dr. James Canton is a renowned global futurist, social scientist, keynote presenter, author, and visionary business advisor. Dr. Canton is CEO and Chairman of the Institute for Global Futures, a think tank he founded in 1990. The largest companies and governments in the world have gained from his foresight.
