NBC Revives "Last Comic Standing" Once Again with Wanda Sykes

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is dusting off its "Last Comic Standing" format once again, ordering an eighth season for summer 2014 according to a report on THR.com.
The news marks the third time the Peacock has pulled the franchise off the shelf: seasons four and seven both arrived nearly two years after their previous cycles. Season eight then will turn up almost four calendar years since season seven signed off in August of 2010.
Wanda Sykes will serve as an executive producer on the latest incarnation, joining Page Hurwitz and her Push It Productions banner. Sykes however isn't currently planned to host. Previous MCs include Jay Mohr, Anthony Clark, Bill Bellamy, Fearne Cotton and Craig Robinson.
