THE RIGHT MISTAKE (HBO, New!) - Laurence Fishburne is set as to reprise his role of Walter Mosley's literary hero Socrates Fortlow from the 1998 telefilm "Always Outnumbered" in a potential drama series at the pay channel. Fox Television Studios is behind the project, which will again see Fishburne as Fortlow, "an ex-convict who seeks redemption - while battling inner demons and external forces - after serving 27 years in prison." Mosley and Patrick Charles are co-writing the pilot script with Mosley, Diane Houslin, Fishburne and his Cinema Gypsy Productions partners Helen Sugland and Tom Russo executive producing. Charles will serve as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)


SECRETS & LIES (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Barbie Kligman; D: TBA) - Barbie Kligman ("Private Practice") has been tapped as showrunner of the 10-episode series, an adaptation of upcoming Australian crime mystery drama about "a family man who finds the body of a young boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect. He has no choice but to try to find the real killer as his marriage, his kids, his reputation, and his sanity are all at stake." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Hoodlum's Tracey Robertson and Nathan Mayfield also serve as executive producers on the project. (Deadline.com)


TCGS (Comedy Central, New!) - Chris Gethard's New York public access show is being eyed as a potential series at the cable channel. Comedy Central has given a pilot order to the project, billed as "a live, interactive call-in show with roots at the UCB Theater NY, which blends talk, variety and game elements." Gethard and Zach Galifianakis are executive producing alongside Brian Stern of Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Will Ferrell, Owen Burke, Adam McKay and Mike Farah of Funny or Die. TWO TO GO (NBC, New!) - Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley ("The Hard Times of RJ Berger") have set up a new comedy at the Peacock about "the last two singles in a group of friends moving into marriage and parenthood, navigating life and love as they Friday night barhop then Saturday morning moon bounce surrounded by kids - none of whom are their own." Universal Television is behind the project with Aggregate Films' Jason Bateman and James Garavente also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)


THE WIZARD OF LIES (HBO; W: Samuel Baum; D: TBA) - Samuel Baum ("Lie to Me") has been tapped to pen the telefilm, which stars Robert De Niro as disgraced financier Bernie Madoff and "tells the story of the imprisoned swindler and the $65 billion Ponzi scheme he concocted." Baum succeeds John Burnham Schwartz, who was originally attached. Diane Henriques's bestseller "The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust" and Laurie Sandell's "Truth and Consequences: Life Inside the Madoff Family" will both serve as source material for the project, which De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are executive producing via their Tribeca Productions banner. AND IN OTHER NEWS... - J.R. Orci has been promoted from consulting producer to co-executive producer on NBC's "The Blacklist" as part of a two-year overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television (Deadline.com); and Ringleader Studios is developing Colin Wilson's 1976 novel "The Space Vampires" as a TV series following its feature film treatment in Tobe Hooper's 1985 picture "Lifeforce" (Deadline.com).
