HOSTED BY WILLIE GEIST "WHAT WE WASTED OUR YEAR ON" PREMIERES ON NBC FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27 AT 9P/8C

Year-End Comedy Special Takes A Look Back at the Hilarious, Viral and Jaw-Dropping Moments of 2013

NEW YORK, NY - December 18, 2013 - "What We Wasted Our Year On," hosted by "TODAY" and "Morning Joe's," Willie Geist, premieres on Friday, December 27 at 9p/8c on NBC. The one-hour comedy special, produced by NBC News' Peacock Productions, takes a look back at what we wasted our time on over the last twelve months. Geist is joined by comedians Nikki Glaser, Seth Herzog, Julian McCullough and Sherrod Small as they ricochet through the most memorable and hilarious moments of the year.

From twerking to grumpy cat; Paula Deen to Anthony Weiner, the special shines a spotlight on everything we watched, read, discussed and shared all year long with plenty of attitude and outrageous opinion. Plus, NBC News' Harry Smith will make a cameo in the Who's Sorry Now segment as he reads actual apologies made by celebrities and politicians and asks the comedians to identify who said what. And, Sasheer Zamata joins the cast as the special's fun-loving field correspondent.

Shot in front of a live studio audience at 30 Rock, "What We Wasted Our Year On" is the ultimate countdown of all the stories, news, and events that we obsessed over in 2013.

"What We Wasted Our Year On" is produced by NBC News' Peacock Productions. Sharon Scott is President and GM of Peacock Productions; Jim Biederman is the executive producer.
