FRED ARMISEN AND BALTHAZAR GETTY TO GUEST STAR ON "HOUSE OF LIES"

Third Season Of The Hit SHOWTIME(R) Comedy Series Premieres January 12th at 10 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 20, 2013) - Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen and Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters) will guest star in one episode each of the upcoming third season of the hit SHOWTIME comedy series HOUSE OF LIES, premiering on January 12, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the network. Armisen will play Vincent, a neurotic owner of a company that makes a meal-replacement product, and Getty is a wealthy hedge fund owner who knows Marissa (guest star Eliza Coupe). They join previously announced guest stars Mekhi Phifer, Tip "T.I." Harris, Daniel Stern, Griffin Dunne and Jenny Slate, among others.

Emmy(R) Award nominee Fred Armisen starred for 11 seasons on Saturday Night Live, where he played countless memorable characters, including President Barack Obama, Joy Behar and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Armisen also serves as co-creator, co-writer and co-star of the critically-acclaimed series Portlandia, alongside Carrie Brownstein. Armisen earned an Emmy nomination for writing, and the series earned the prestigious Peabody Award. His film credits include Easy A, Baby Mama, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. On television, he's made memorable guest appearances on The Sarah Silverman Show, Human Giant and Tim and Eric Awesome Show.

Balthazar Getty is best known to television audiences for his work as eldest son "Tommy Walker" in the long-running hit drama series Brothers & Sisters. He's also appeared on Charmed, Alias and Pasadena. He started his film career as a teen in the films Lord of the Flies and Young Guns II, followed by memorable roles in Natural Born Killers and Ladder 49.

HOUSE OF LIES is the edgy, provocative hit SHOWTIME comedy series starring Don Cheadle (Iron Man 3) in his twice Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe(R)-winning performance for season one and Golden Globe and SAG Award-nominated performance for season two as elite consultant Marty Kaan, a man with a single-minded pursuit: power. This quest is eternally complicated at work by his relationships with his "Pod" of co-workers: sexy, whip-smart co-conspirator Jeannie (Kristen Bell) and underlings Clyde (Emmy winner Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). At home, he's forced to juggle unwanted advice from his psychoanalyst father Jeremiah (Emmy winner Glynn Turman), drama from his demented ex-wife Monica (Dawn Olivieri), all while being a loving father to his gender-fluid teenage son Roscoe (Donis Leonard Jr.). We start season 3 as the wreckage from Marty's decision to launch his own firm has spilled onto the Pod -- the almighty quartet is disbanded, at least for now. But while Marty is preoccupied with hustling up new clients, his former mentee Jeannie is channeling her inner Kaan and making big moves in his absence. With everything now turned upside-down, it's anyone's game and anyone's guess as to who will come out on top - at work and at play. Produced by SHOWTIME, HOUSE OF LIES is created and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan. Jessika Borsiczky, Stephen Hopkins, Don Cheadle and David Walpert also serve as executive producers.
