FX NETWORKS FINALIZES CAST FOR DRAMA SERIES PILOT "HOKE" STARRING PAUL GIAMATTI

Oona Chaplin, John Carroll Lynch, Robert Wisdom, Jordi Mollà and Tammy Blanchard Round Out Cast

Scott Frank Wrote and Will Direct Pilot Episode Which Will Shoot in Miami This Spring

Scott Frank, David Manson, Curtis Hanson, Carol Fenelon, Paul Giamatti and Dan Carey Are Executive Producers

LOS ANGELES, January 8, 2014 - FX has finalized its casting on the drama series pilot Hoke, starring actor/producer Paul Giamatti, with Oona Chaplin, John Carroll Lynch, Robert Wisdom, Jordi Mollà and Tammy Blanchard rounding out the cast. Hoke is produced by FX Productions, and production on the pilot will begin this spring in Miami.

Scott Frank wrote and will direct the pilot episode, and he will be Co-Showrunner with David Manson if Hoke goes to series. Frank, Manson, Curtis Hanson, Carol Fenelon, Paul Giamatti and Dan Carey are Executive Producers.

Hoke is a darkly comedic drama based on Charles Willeford's series of novels Sideswipe, New Hope for the Dead and The Way We Die Now. It is a story of mid-life crisis and murder that features the hardboiled and possibly insane homicide detective, "Hoke Moseley" (Giamatti), in pre-chic Miami circa early 1980s.

Oona Chaplin plays "Ellita Sanchez," a sharp young homicide detective recently promoted from dispatcher to Hoke's new partner.

John Carroll Lynch plays "Bill Henderson," an old guard Miami PD detective and Hoke's former partner who is equally as miserable in the recently diversified department.

Robert Wisdom is "Major Brownley," the head of the Miami PD Homicide Squad who has a long history with Hoke and his antics.

Jordi Mollà plays "Armando Zuniga," a sociopathic Cuban man who arrives on the shores of Miami in the rumpled, faded clothing of a peasant Cuban refugee and integrates into the city posing as a famous poet of the Cuban people.

Tammy Blanchard plays "Loretta Hickey," the striking mother of a murdered drug addict who Hoke comes across while investigating the case.

Chaplin recently wrapped an arc on HBO's Game of Thrones, and was also seen on BBC's The Hour. Wisdom is best known as playing "Major Howard 'Bunny' Colvin" on the HBO series The Wire, and was most recently seen on the ABC series Nashville. Molla recently wrapped a supporting role in Ron Howard's In The Heart of the Sea, and this past summer he starred opposite Vin Diesel in Riddick. Tammy Blanchard won an Emmy(R) Award for playing the young Judy Garland in the ABC miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows. Lynch's latest credits include the NBC series Do No Harm and the ABC series Body of Proof.

Chaplin is repped by Troika Talent in the U.K. and Magnolia Entertainment in the U.S. Wisdom is repped by Don Buchwald & Associates, Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Nilon Entertainment and Fox Rothschild LLP. Mollà is repped by APA and Creative Partners Group in the U.S., by Katrina Bayonas of Kuranda Management in Spain, and by Troika Talent in the U.K. Blanchard is repped by The Gersh Agency and Soffer/Namoff Entertainment. Lynch is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Suskin Management.
