FX ORDERS TWO NEW COMEDY SERIES

"Married" and "You're the Worst"

FX Places Order for 10 Episodes of Each Series Which Are Set to Premiere in July

LOS ANGELES, January 24, 2014 - FX has given the green light to two new comedy series, placing orders for the scripted half-hours, Married and You're the Worst, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. FX has ordered 10 episodes of each series, which are slated to debut in July.

Married (formerly the untitled Andrew Gurland project) is from Creator/Executive Producer Andrew Gurland and stars Nat Faxon (The Descendants, Ben & Kate), Judy Greer (Archer, The Descendants), Jenny Slate (House of Lies), and Brett Gelman (Kroll Show).

You're the Worst, from Stephen Falk, stars Aya Cash (The Wolf of Wall Street), Chris Geere (The Spa), Kether Donohue (The Carrie Diaries), and Desmin Borges (The Good Wife).

Grad said, "Married and You're the Worst represent the continuing expansion of our comedy brand. They are smart, funny and adult. Married is a frank and honest portrayal of a marriage - both good and bad. You're the Worst examines relationships - or lack thereof - of millennials and the uncertainty and anxiety that comes with those relationships. There is tremendous talent behind these shows and we couldn't happier about the quality of these pilots."

"Married"

Married is a half hour comedy about being miserably in love. Russ (Faxon) and Lina Bowman (Greer) can barely remember what was like before kids, debt, and suburbia rained on their romance -- but every once in a while, in between the arguments about their declining sex life and who's driving carpool, they are reminded what drew them together in the first place -- they're best friends. The show also features Russ and Lina's friend AJ (Brett Gelman) who is recently divorced and pretending he's over his wife, and their other friend Jess (Slate) who is married to a much older man who can't keep up with her.

Married was created by Andrew Gurland (The Virginity Hit, Mail Order Wife), who wrote and directed the pilot script, serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner, alongside Executive Producers Paul Young and Peter Principato. The series is produced by FX Productions. FX ordered the pilot last May and shot it last summer.

"You're the Worst"

You're the Worst is a comedic love story about what happens when two toxic, self-destructive people (Cash and Geere) fall in love despite themselves and attempt the impossible - a relationship. You're the Worst was Created by Falk, who wrote the pilot and will serve as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer) directed the pilot episode. You're the Worst is produced by FX Productions. FX ordered the pilot last July and shot it in the fall. Falk was a Co-Executive Producer and Writer on the Emmy(R) Award nominated comedy series Weeds, is a Co-Executive Producer and Writer on the Netflix comedy/drama series Orange is the New Black.

FX Networks has been very active in comedy development and production. In addition to the series orders of Married and You're the Worst, FX Networks has seven comedy pilots in various stages of production for either FX or FXX. They include Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll created by and starring Denis Leary; the untitled Zach Galifianakis project created by and starring Galifianakis, and produced by Galifianakis and Louis C.K.; The Comedians, from Larry Charles, Matt Nix, Ben Wexler and Billy Crystal, which stars Billy Crystal and Josh Gad; Do or Die starring Tracy Morgan; How & Why created by Charlie Kaufman and starring Michael Cera and John Hawkes; Man Seeking Woman from Simon Rich; and the animated comedy series Bigfoot from Seth Rogen and produced by Rogen and Adam Reed and Matt Thompson.
