ESPN to Televise Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game 2014
ESPN NBA Countdown Analysts Bill Simmons & Jalen Rose to Coach Celebrity Teams
ESPN Radio's Mike Greenberg & Mike Golic, SportsCenter's Stan Verrett to Participate
It will be a star-studded affair as ESPN televises the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game 2014 on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. ET, from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La. Veteran play-by-play commentator Mark Jones will call the action, alongside analyst Jon Barry and reporters Stuart Scott and Chris Broussard. This is the 10th consecutive year that ESPN has televised the Celebrity Game, which will also be available via WatchESPN.
This year's event will feature a series of firsts, including the Celebrity Game coaching debuts for ESPN NBA Countdown analysts Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose, who will each coach one celebrity team. In another first, ESPN Radio's Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic - hosts of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike - will play in the game. Prior to the tip, the duo will also host Friday's episode of Mike & Mike from 6-10 a.m. on-site in New Orleans at the Hyatt Regency hotel. Additional ESPN personalities participating in this year's game include SportsCenter anchor Stan Verrett and three-time NBA Champion and ESPN NBA analyst Bruce Bowen.
The Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game 2014 is part of the NBA All-Star Jam Session and will feature stars from all walks of entertainment, including film, television, music and sports. ESPN's personalities will join two-time MVP Kevin Hart, who will play alongside "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon; Jesse Williams ("Grey's Anatomy"); Columbus Short ("Scandal"); Michael B. Jordan ("That Awkward Moment"); Erin Heatherton (Victoria Secret model, actress, philanthropist); U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan; "E! News" anchor Terrence Jenkins; NBA TV's "NBA Inside Stuff" co-host Kristen Ledlow; and WNBA stars Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock and Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky.
